Biography
MENHIR
{ men-hih-r } Nicknames: The Second One • Warden of Purgatory/Voice of the Great Seal ╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮ The Second One ♫ (artist) - (song) ♫ ╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯ |
Or he likes to think so, anyway.
It's a bit hypocritical of him to not want any stray "permanent residents" wandering around Purgatory, considering that's what he started out as, before Purgatory absorbed him, and he absorbed Purgatory, becoming one and the same. He didn't want to disappear, didn't want to lose himself, and as the second one to do so after Tiegla, he, too, was granted a purpose in the chaotic dimension of the dead. He works together with her to keep Purgatory clean and stable, for the most part.
Now, if only she weren't so... careless about it.
Menhir likes Tiegla. Really, he does. He's spent enough time with her to know she doesn't necessarily mean ill, and that she has her own ways of doing things, but really now. Really. Instead of doing her job, she'd rather let those- those- those renegades run loose than deal with them? Because she likes watching them? Yes, maybe they're interesting and all, but they're going against the very principle of the dimension!
... Ugh. But she is the one in charge, so he'll just have to defer to her wishes. Doesn't stop him from pouring energy into the dimension to help it form Retainers, however. That, she has no control over.
The dimension is its own entity, after all.
And yes, okay, maybe her actions have helped Purgatory in some cases, but just as well, they've made things harder for them both! It's just not how things are supposed to work!
Serving as a warden of Purgatory is hard work, that's for sure. Menhir doesn't mind it- not if it means he can keep existing- but he'd like to do his job right. He does do his job right. He tries his best. He really does.
He just wishes he didn't have to be the voice of reason towards a being that is not only older than him, but also supposed to be wiser. The Great Seal isn't much help, being so young still, in comparison to them both.
What an absolute pain.
