Azir’s dreams are full of another life; one in which he was vizier to a powerful ruler, and privy to the magical secrets of the ruler’s private libraries. The dreams were infrequent as a hatchling, but as a young dragon they grew stronger, clearer. He began to chronicle his dreams. The more he wrote down, the more the knowledge became part of his present self - literally as well as metaphorically. The appearance of mysterious writing on his wings is as exciting to him as it is frightening; he assumes that it means he is on the right path.

Many of the symbols and runes are still a mystery to him, and he has sought to understand them in any way he can. He has sought the services of translators and adepts of the arcane. More dangerously, he has begun to seek out ancient tombs and relics. He owes his scars to the dragon guardians who were none too pleased about his trespassing. As he digs deeper, he will also have to beware those who do not want him to understand, or who covet the secrets for themselves.

They don’t frighten him. Azir is bold, adventurous, even reckless. He believes his dreams mean that he is special above others. He feels that his rightful place is one of power, and that no one may deny him his destiny.
