Biography

Once upon a time, there was a king.

dragon?did=58018018&skin=0&apparel=2115,34150,9449,24223,8600&xt=dressing.png

He was firm and just. He ruled fairly, but with a strong hand and clear motivations. He was noble and fierce; a powerful warrior; the perfect king.

The land he ruled was still very young, however, and required a great deal of finesse and careful guidance to bring out its true potential. Allies and alliances needed to be forged with neighboring kingdoms; trade routes needed to be established, fortified, and protected; and an economy needed to be nurtured, carefully as one would a dear child. Laws were drafted, re-drafted, debated, and created to keep the kingdom and its economy running fairly and smoothly. An army to protect the people was built of noble volunteers who were rewarded modestly with what the king could give - land permits, cattle and sheep, tax shares and the like. The king made it worth their while to keep the people and their homes, businesses, and holdings safe. In this way, the little kingdom grew rich.

One thing was still needed, however.

A queen.

A companion. An equal. Someone to share in the ups and downs of nourishing a growing kingdom. Someone to keep him in check, to act as a grounding voice of reason when all the advisors in the court couldn't agree on serious decisions. And, beyond that, someone to cement the bloodline and the crown.

The decision was not made lightly. The king wanted a figure as powerful and wise as himself, and found many potential partners wanting - until She came to visit.

Her kingdom was small, even smaller than his own, but she was ambitious and charismatic - and, above all, almost wickedly clever. She infuriated his advisors, spoke circles around his sorcerers, and became so wildly popular amongst his people that he knew she was the one, if she would have him. And she most certainly would, for she had found what she considered to be the perfect mirror to her own desires in this king of a fine kingdom; together, they could achieve so much more than either could ever dream of on their own. It was a marriage formed on strong ideals, if not necessarily one of love.

The kingdom could only flourish after their partnering, as two small nations came together to form one powerful entity under their leadership.

THE SECOND GENERATION_____________________________________

In time, two princes were born to the king and the queen. The firstborn was strong, but not necessarily wise; the youngest was wise, but not necessarily strong. The eldest son would become a general, then, while the youngest was chosen as heir to the throne, and together the two would balance one another out for the good of the kingdom. The Warprince was happy with his lot, not being one to dawdle on small talk and feeling blessed in the freedom his position gave him. The Heir, likewise, was pleased to have been put in a position that allowed him a comfortable place from which to focus on the longevity of the kingdom. The two were at peace with one another, and remained companions and confidantes throughout their lives.

The elder brother would go on to gain glory on the battlefield, and would give his life to protect the borders from encroaching enemies. The younger brother would ascend to the throne after the passing of his parents, who faced their ends peacefully, and in old age.

The new king chose a queen from his mother's people, and the two would go on to be peaceful leaders during what could be considered a very peaceful time.

The queen brought with her the pure magicks of her people, and under her guidance, such knowledge passed into the royal family lineage. Simple spells and charms were already known by the people, but now they could whisper to their crops and urge better harvests; sing down the rain when the land grew dry; and call into action great gusts of wind when potential enemies threatened the border.

And then, one day, the queen gave birth to a Holy daughter.

THE THIRD GENERATION_____________________________________

The birth of the eldest child was accompanied by a great upswelling of the magic of the land. Whether it was the position of the moon and stars, a spark along a ley line, an honorific deity casting a blessing of the rarest kind, or pure luck in its simplest form, the child was born with an innate and unstoppable magical strength.

What she knew and understood from the time she learned to crawl outmatched even the most learned sorcerers in the king's command, who were all in awe of the child. All of the praise, however, gave the child the impression that she was infallible, perfect, and incapable of performing even the most base mistake - a grave error on the part of everyone involved in her upbringing. This would come to a head when her brother was born; a small child who was nonetheless very bright and active, he asked her for a magic trick and she went all out in delivering.

Her brother was struck down by a great burst of wind that had initially been conjured up to glide him across the courtyard on his still-too-small wings.

Such a tragedy so young in her life scarred the family, the kingdom, and most of all, the princess herself. She learned a lesson on that day, however, and never again acted so flippantly with her magic. Time would pass and she would hone her skills to the finest point in all the land, but the wound in her chest could never be soothed. She would eventually take the crown, being the only child left to her royal parents, and would come to be known as the most cautious, cool-hearted ruler the land would ever see; she was thoughtful and careful to a fault, and only used her great strength if she felt it was truly necessary.

THE FOURTH GENERATION___________________________________________

The young queen would eventually take a partner who knew how to soften her hurt - a gentle and strong king who knew it was wise for her to be cautious, but also healthy and good for her to learn to cope with her great loss. Theirs was a great love story that set the mood for poems and ballads for a fine, long time, well past the length of their lives. Many have endured to this very day, and with good reason.

Though the queen and her eternal partner were entwined at the soul, the two only ever managed to birth a single daughter; a beautiful, confident, and tender-hearted creature who not only inherited her parents' great love for life, but also her mother's nearly limitless magical abilities. This time, however, she had her parents to guide her through the process of understanding and wisely wielding her strength. The lands were blessed to have her.

When the new queen was still quite young, she met her future partner. Not that anyone would have guessed it at the time; he was a strange, quiet creature who seemed to simmer with hurt and mistrust, and many did not trust his introverted nature. He was a child of a dead kingdom, one that had been laid to waste by a growing superpower whose borders were rapidly expanding, and he had experienced many terrible things. But the little queen was determined to befriend him. She felt the sweetness of his soul, and through a great deal of patience and vulnerability on both sides, a powerful partnership was forged.

Now, the threat of an encroaching kingdom of war and conquest was made known. It was a distant threat, but one growing ever closer at a steady, unstoppable pace. The queen and her family would need too prepare for an eventual war.
