▬▬▬▬▬▬▬xxMarina And, here and there, in groves about this grass, like wildernesses of dreams, sprang up fantastic trees, whose tall slender stems stood not upright, but slanted gracefully toward the light that peered at noon-day into the centre of the valley. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬xxbiography. Primal eyes were a hassle. There. she'd said it. Not that she would ever admit it to anyone but the constant comments she'd gotten and being the brunt of jokes wore thin on her. 'Rina, won't you cry me a river? Woah is that like- actual water coming from your eyes? If you were ever to cross the deserts with us could we drink your tears to sustain ourselves? Are you like a portable water supply? Do you stay underwater because you'll flood the island? Y'know with your tears? Is it a bother when your whirlpool eyes carry fish to your face when you go diving? Ugh, Tidelord's scraggly beard, it was enough to make her go mad. Even so, at her most annoyed, it was always better than the alternative questions. Blessed eyes of any kind were something to be strived for, cherished, and venerated even. Though each clan member faced their own challenges with their sight, Marina had spoken to none about her own struggle. She curse she bore since birth. The reason she chose to venture and travel, away from the clan's territory, and away from her would-be role of oracle. She'd rather hear the same jokes a thousand times over than to be asked one fatal question "Can you read me my prophecy?" No. She had no explanation for it, no reason that her gift would be this way. It was a corruption of the old ways. Her prophecies would bubble to the surface, no matter how hard she tried to hold them down- to keep them from being spoken. Like a marionette her body would no longer be her own, her voice echoing the moans of the drowned dead, removing all other possible fates to a dragon but one. A prophecy no longer, but a spoken curse. And always. Always of tragedy. ..Perhaps the jokes were better. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬xxrelations.
