Umbra may be Fire in elemental alignment, but she's dark enough to classify as Shadow. She is near-constantly poring over potions and concoctions that are more than likely too dangerous to be used, and the mimic that accompanies her seems to be as dark-natured as she. The spirit of a dragon she once knew, (or so she told those at Frostspire), is always about her, whispering tantalizing lies. Though she seems to be independent of this spirit, some have questioned if its murmurs of hope for 'freedom' and 'truth' are not driving Umbra's every action, especially given how she can sometimes be heard murmuring ominous and almost nonsensical phrases and words.
The Shadow rune on her haunch is a curious phenomenon, as she is not of the Shadow Flight. But the semi-transparent cloak she wears can only somewhat mask the festering darkness that spreads across her hide in broken patterns of infection. Her eyes glow with the brightest shade of flaming orange, reminding everyone of how she is supposedly of the Fire Flight, but are also proof of something unnatural that has taken place in her. Though she has yet to pose a true threat to the clan, Dreamchaser is watcher her closely to ensure Umbra remains a non-hostile entity. Scarr has already prepared the warriors of the clan in case they should need to run such a dragon off.
The only one who may have answers about Umbra's duel nature, (appearing as Fire but acting as Shadow), is Chara, but she has yet to share any information related to the subject.
