backstory
- youngest of the hamad siblings
- one of the many servants paulo brought onto the paragon
- parents died from unnatural causes. she and her sibs were taken in by a family friend, camellia, whom the three affectionately called their auncle
- cam taught them that one could live happily without being super wealthy. dawn especially took this to heart
- a few years later, cam became too weak to get out of bed (unsure of reason)
- shortly after, dawn grew ill and became bedridden. ziri and burr volunteered to go out and get food and other necessities in cam's place
- paulo found them all and brought the siblings in as servants. initially they only wanted burr, but was convinced to bring the others in
- got basic necessities and was able to recover to full health

relationships
- was the closest to auncle camellia. before they fell ill, she would walk with them and pick out books from the library for them to read. devastated when they no longer could live with her and her sibs. believes that it was her fault they're no longer with her
- doesn't know her parents too well, since they passed when she was a toddler. mostly knows about them through the stories her siblings and auncle tell her. can't help but feel othered when her sibs talk about their parents
- understands why ziri doesn't like paulo, but doesn't like when xe acts rebelliously, because xyr attitude gets burr in trouble
- sympathizes with burr and can see why he praises paulo to an extent. doesn't like being coddled by him
- conflicted when it comes to paulo on whether or not they're a good boss. they Did save her life, but hearing the things ziri told her... and also them prohibiting the three from seeing cam... but... burr insists working for them is the best thing for the family...

- friendly with kalama. was initially intimidated by her. her first impression was walking in on kalama cooking... "passionately" (paulo made her cook some stupid thing and she was taking her anger out on the food)... and then proceeded to walk away. told kalama about her past. when kalama told her she would help her family out, dawn burst into tears
- close to anahera. wishes she could put up with paulo's nonsense as well as anahera can. ever since paulo hired anahera, she's helped made the sibs' lives easier. was comfortable enough with her to tell her about what happened before paulo took them in

- carries a pocket knife with her at all times, as it was the last gift cam gave her. paulo doesn't know she has it

- either hides or zones out when burr and ziri fight. rarely does she act as a mediator; hates it when both her older siblings rope her into their arguments
