Aravae is seldom seen and rarely heard within the clan. Many actually didn't notice her presence at first, it just grew gradually and eventually became part of the mosaic of The Shatter. No one really knows her story either, as she keeps to herself most of the time, and is rarely seen during the day. She spends much of her time tending gardens and flowerbeds around the clan settlement; she enjoys their quiet company. She is also a skilled gatherer, and likes to lend her skills to help with the food stores, as a way to give back and contribute. One dragon in the clan has stolen her attentions however, in the form of the male Guardian - Drayth. They met one evening at dusk, she had just ventured out to gather on the outskirts of the clan home, he, a newcomer to the clan, was exploring his new surroundings. The sound of approaching footsteps up ahead startled Aravae, and she quickly slipped into the blackberry bushes before her. She held her breath, both anxious yet embarrassed at herself, and her ears swivelled forward as the someone stopped right beside the bush. The scent of the delicious berries had grabbed Drayth's attention, and he simply stopped to try them out. He jostled the bush around, plucking a mouthful of the berries off to taste. Heading back to try more he bumped Aravae's nose, and she hastily shrunk back further into the bush... Curious, Drayth nudged the bushes aside and their eyes met - he held her gaze in the darkening dusk light, both surprised, and intrigued by the slight glint of shimmer. She immediately blushed, but found herself unable to look away, also captivated by his gaze. Slowly he backed out of the bush, and she followed, emerging about half way out of her blackberry cover. She blushed again, and at that point he glanced away, apologized, and introduced himself. A small smile appeared on her face and she looked down, then back up at him, impressed by his size, colouring and genes - he was quite handsome indeed. Slowly and steadily he won her affections, and she grew quite fond of him. They've spent many moons together, she showing him her precious gardens, and he, his artworks and the artwork of Mother Nature at dusk. She thinks of him as a kindred spirit, and feels quite at peace calling him her mate. |
