Biography
Wanderer At Heart
___Kelp usually doesn't stay in one place for long. He often disappears from the lair without notice, which always ends up worrying Tidewatcher. Sometimes Kelp teases her about this. Although, he tries to make sure that he isn't gone for too long, so Tidewatcher doesn't get too worked up. He doesn't tell her that though.
___Kelp often brings back food and materials to the Lapis Clan, as well as the occasional annoyed creature. Yes, we've seen the hermit crabs that live just outside the lair. You don't need to bring them back to the den and show it to everybody. Please stop bringing back hermit crabs. Well, Deepsea seems to be fascinated by them... Fine, you can bring a few hermit crabs back to the lair.
___Kelp met his familiar, Canyon the hydra scorpion, when he was on one of his gathering trips. He wasn't sure how a scorpion ended up near the Tsunami flats, or how it survived there, but much to Tidewatcher's dismay Kelp brought it home nonetheless. Tidewatcher had tolerated Kelp's creature-collecting obsession, as it was something that brought Kelp (and sometimes Deepsea) joy. But when Kelp brough home Canyon, Tidewatcher clearly expressed her worry about having a scorpion, one with five tails for that matter. That's more opportunities for somedragon to get hurt! But Kelp decided to keep Canyon anyway, which slowly resulted in a friendship between the two; Canyon isn't as affectionate as some of the other familiars in the clan, but he is certainly dedicated to Kelp. Canyon always keeps his tails out of reach of little hatchlings, and is a lot more cautious when dragons come close to him. Maybe his friendship with Kelp has something to do with that?
