Yael was stirred by a loud, quickening series of knocks had started against the front door of his lair.
Adjusting his ovalcrown with his other claw, he wearily opened the door; only to see Rosegold, close to collapsing. She then spoke, taking large breaths between pauses, "Can I come in? I need to tell you something. To Shadowbinder, this is just..."
Yael stared. "I am so blottedly tired. IT IS FOUR IN THE DARN MORNING and I am going right back to my RIGHTFUL sleep after you finish what you are going to say. Just... make it quick."

Despite his paler primary coloring, Briley leaves him alone; perhaps because his secondary and tertiary colors are bright enough to suffice. From a young age, Yael has shown a strong interest in gemstones and is fascinated with watching the jewelers of the clan work; even offering up some of the rubies from his own wings and limbs for them to use in their pieces. This is a win-win for both parties; as the jewelers get precious rubies to incorporate into their pieces without mining or trading for them, and Yael can move around with greater ease.
