Biography
Broody, moody, and overall never impressed, Sakurai is a dragon that is hard to please. As the son of the Co-Matriarch, and being raised and trained to fill her spot one day, he has stupidly high standards, and accepts no excuses. Mess up once in his presence? And you're labeled a dumb, useless, doddling fool in his eyes until proven otherwise.
He has reason for this though. His mother is much the same, albeit more gentle than her son. Her son's strictness coming from her being harder on family than clan members, and holding them to higher standards. Sakurai though, sees no reason why clan members shouldn't be held to the same, sometimes harsh, standards.
He's smart, skilled, and carries himself with a dignified, yet haughty, air as he goes about the clan. He even knows how to throw his weight around, having been trained by his other mother, and his older brother. Something he also carries with pride, and will often spar with members of the guard regularly to keep himself in peak condition. The one thing he can't stand though, is the vigorous studying. He's strong, and knows how to do many of the main tasks that'll keep the clan afloat in a state of emergency. Why does he need to know useless book work too? It drives him up the wall. They have Vinca and Leif for this. Useless scribe work was unnecessary for his future position in his eyes. So more than often, he did indeed leave the book work to them, much to Leif's charging.
Despite all of this, his ego, his horrid attitude, and his high standards, there is ONE dragon that is spared from shrewd judgement. His mate. Some way, some how, this dragon is nothing but perfect in Sakurai's eyes. His devotion to this mate so powerful, he even defied one part of his duties. He was to be betrothed to the Main Matriarch's daughter and heir, something he had accepted as part of his job, and treated it as such. Even giving her the same, harsh tongue lashings he'd give others if he felt she under preformed, which she would dish back in full. But the moment he laid eyes on Marigold? None of that applied any more. He could do no wrong. He could mess up so terribly that half the clan is left in shambles, and Sakurai would do nothing more than lovingly dry his tears and sooth him, after all everyone makes mistakes. The irony isn't lost on the clan.
That being said, he does care for the clan deeply, and would die for them in a heart beat
