 BEFORE FUNNEL'S RAGE
When the boys decided they wanted to explore, having heard about Pearl’s mother’s old colony location and wanting to find it desperately. Berkley tried convincing Pearl that it wasn’t safe for a Chamilifrill to wander outside of the sanctuary, but Pearl wanted none of it- he was determined to find his mother’s origins, maybe even another survivor from the attack that had separated her from her home. It was decided that they were going to go together, despite protests from both their parents. They slipped out in the dead of night, flying north to the wingtip of the bird. Until a storm struck. The two were thrown violently in the winds, forcing them to crash before they could get halfway to their destination. The boys were gravely injured when they were found. Berkley had completely lost his left arm and Pearl’s left horn had snapped off and damaged his vocal chords, leaving him unable to speak. Neither of them remembered where they came from and where they were going. All they remembered were their names, and each other.
