Cassie was born in Greenveil, to a family of gardeners and florists. She was born blind, but that didn't stop her from developing her interest in plants and family careers. Although it was difficult with time she would learn it all. She didn't have many friends, but that didn't seem to bother her as she enjoyed peace and calm, she was well liked by those around her anyway. When she reached adulthood she worked with her parents and their business, taking interest in both aspects and helped her father with gardening and her mother with her florist work. During the Greenskeeper Gathering she helped her mother with arranging the flowers for the celebration. Her talent was noticed by Queen Aurelia who inspected them and offered her to work for her and her gardens. It was her dream job so of course she agreed happily. Although she couldn't see, she could tell that the palace was mostly out of wood and leaves here and there. She enjoyed the space overall. She enjoyed her work a lot and often went to a nearby lake to relax and reflect. That's where she met her best friend - Tashia. The two of them got along great from the get go and Cassie offered her to be her assistant as Queen Aurelia gave her permission to find one. Tashia was just as much of a nature lover as herself and she wanted her around, her first close friend. Tashia would agree and assist her in the gardens, both of them spending a lot of time together. One day Queen Aurelia introduced them to a new addition to their staff, an unusual looking dragon, so she was told, with extraordinary properties. His name is Spiritrise and he was to be a personal guard. He would often come around to relax in the gardens, watching her work, sometimes striking up a conversation and even offering to help. She enjoyed his company, she quite liked him. He seemed reserved, but it was clear he enjoyed spending time with her. After some time, royal mages of Listera, their newly allied kingdom, offered to try out their one of a kind potion, Eurynomia, that's said to cure anything to cure her blindness. Cassie wasn't so sure about it. She was used to the way things have always been in her life, but she was curious about how the gardens looked, the colors, what Tashia was like and Spiritrise too. She thought of him as handsome in her mind. She would agree. It would be days before her eyes could adjust to the light they've never witnessed before, but once she could see it brought her great joy. She knew nature was beautiful, but she couldn't truly comprehend just how much without seeing it. Spiritrise was just as handsome as she thought, his smile when he watched her was so bright, she wondered if he always smiled like that around her. |
