"All in vain; because Death, in approaching him had stalked with his black shadow before him, and enveloped the victim. And it was the mournful influence of the unperceived shadow that caused him to feel --although he neither saw nor heard --to feel the presence of my head within the room."

Zhoron was but a wee hatchling when he was first picked up by Alre "The Deceiver" Ilifina and Ashera "The Devil's Smile" Virtris, the Captain and first mate of The Last Kraken. The two dragons raised the hatchling, teaching him the ways of the waves. Alre promised that if he ever passed, The Last Kraken would belong to Zhoron.

Little did either of them know, Ashera was plotting against the captain for control of the ship. She had been secretly meeting with a certain set of triplets, known to her as "The Emperor Who Would Be." The triplets, of course, were Lalwende, Arafinwe and Nolofinwe of Legion, and they intended to use Ashera to find more imperials to bring into their fold.

As time went on, Alre began to take note of the little things Ashera was doing, and grew suspicious of her intentions. However, when confronted, Ashera called the captain out, and turned the crew upon him. Zhoron, at this point, was an older dragon, and was not waylaid by Ashera's claims. He stood against her, and for this trespass, she ripped into him.

The two fought for hours, ripping and tearing at one another. At long last, Ashera tumbled off the side of the ship and into the frozen waters under them. There, she drowned as Zhoron collapsed onto the ship's creaking bows. He looked up at Alre, panting and bleeding, as the older dragon stepped over him and called for healers. "The Deceiver's" name had changed, and in the end, he died known as "The Saviour."

After being healed, Alre took Zhoron on as his first mate and taught him everything he knew about sailing and captaining a ship. One night Zhoron woke to find him gone. No notice, no note, nothing. Confusion wrought the young dragon until one of his crew members presented him with Alre's bloodied hat and bowed before him. Zhoron took on the title captain and led his crew on many adventures, swearing that he would never allow another first mate to do to him what Ashera had done to his captain.

Traveling the seas, he found a young hatchling abandoned on a shoreline, left for dead and almost drowned in the shallow water. Zhoron called for his saving and took the hatchling in. The hatchling, named Haemir, was the life of the ship, and every crew member loved him. He was a bright student, taking to the sails with a natural gift.

However, tragedy struck again for the second time in Zhoron's life. A wayward cyclone caused his ship to wreck into a coral reef, and in the wreckage, all but he were lost. Struck with grief, Zhoron dragged himself to shore where he was discovered by a patrol from the nearby clan Auroral Dissonance. They took him back to their home and he was cared for by the healers. Old wounds rescarred and new ones covered over with more tissue.

In Auroral Dissonance he was greeted with the news that a mage would be able to help him with his crew, and he begged her to help him bring them back. But he was given one choice out of all of them, for she was only powerful enough to bring back one.

The news tore Zhoron apart and he asked for more time to decide. Given a few days by himself, the captain came to the conclusion that he would save the youngest dragon on the ship, the young hatchling he'd taken off the shore. With this heavy in his heart, he asked for Haemir to be brought back.

When Haemir returned, he brought news from the deities. Zhoron, at first, was confused and didn't want to partake in the adventures Haemir claimed were going on, but after a little convincing, including a message from his old captain Alre, Zhoron eventually agreed to join Haemir on his journey to bring the end of Legion.

Now, together, Zhoron "The Haunted" Valhorn and Haemir "The Hallowed" Valydark travel Sornieth, bringing news to various clans about Legion and it's darkness. Slowly they are helping to amass an army to help bring Legion to it's knees. Their home resides mostly in Storm Reach, a tiny seaside town untouched by Legion's reaches. They fully intend to keep it that way, no matter what it takes.
