Biography
Clan Role: He built this outpost into the little village you see now; each of the dragons that resides here was once a wanderer, but he saw fit to give them a home here. First, in his inn; then in a house, once it was built.
One Strength: He is too friendly, some would say; an air of easygoing alliance that earns him no enemies but the inherently suspicious, who view his behavior as nothing but an act.
One Weakness: No sense for the concept of treasure; he has all the resources he could need here in the Starwood Strands, so he forgets that others are not so free with their possessions and skills as he is.
At first, there was nothing here.
But it couldn't stay that way for long. Lazzaro was necessarily going to create the outpost; it would have made for a very boring prophecy, but fate does not always act on grand scales. Sometimes the nature of a person is that they will make a home, and build a home for others. Sometimes, as in Lazzaro's case, people are just really good at building a village around themselves.
There would be a lot of planning involved in the making of such a place, though. Perhaps it is a fortunate thing, then, that Arthfael was capable of planning for the future in ways that he could not. Collecting the lumber, finding a suitable place, the financing of such a venture; she took to the planning with ease, and he took to the physical construction with a practiced hand.
Weeks spent in the making. Father and daughter toiled together, and there at the end; it was supposed to be an outpost of sorts for Soliton, that was the agreement, but in truth it was an inn. He might have laughed, just a bit; definitionally, an outpost can be a settlement, and his inn would start it in that direction.
That had been, always, his goal.
Those who are attuned to the ambient magic of the world can smell the spells that float around him, that hang heavy like incense in his fur. Spells that, when asked about, he says he knows nothing of; but they remained in place regardless, and give him that little extra warmth that keeps people talking. Perhaps the spells colored his own senses as much as they did others, for how often does a dragon happily give away everything it owns for the benefit of a stranger?
It was quite strange, then, with how quickly other dragons warmed up to him, that the ones who populated his hamlet (a sign a little ways down the roads named his domain "Faewood")-- it was quite strange that the ones that lived in this place were of a suspicious nature- most of them declined even passing greetings in the street. Still, it did not take long before those suspicious others began to stay there. Now, every person that passes through, that stays for even a night, is met with his pride. For this, he thinks, was his most clever plan; to make a place that can be a home, however temporarily, for those in need.
And perhaps he had hoped to meet others, meet some of those traveling sorts, while here. Barring that, he was quite content with his hearth and his role. A builder and a cook and a provider; there was little he could like more than that.
All the same, it does give Arthfael a good bit of grief, when it comes time to purchase food - or more commonly, medicine, and the coffers are empty of all treasure. He really doesn't keep treasure well, if it even comes into his possession to start with.
Stories to Write
-Thinks Edgar is pretty weird but won't say anything because he's not rude
-Had to get a stern talking-to from Static to start making his Hamlet into a community. First stop, that strange wizard on the opposite corner.
-Hearth is the imp that is also the fireplace. He's had several years to become companionable with Laz, which unfortunately means Laz is also the only one who can tend the fire. Hearth doesn't like other people much, and spits coals on them sometimes for fun.
