Biography
Sometimes, she wishes she could put the past behind her. Leave it all lost somewhere in foggy memory and just be normal, be happy, be with her family.
But every flash of darkness and obsidian hair makes her scales quiver and her heart sing. She can't block it out: the hope that one day, she will find every fateful dragon again. She yearns for reunion.
She doesn't remember much about the origin, just feels a certainty that she was once an enigmatic slice of the night sky and knows that she doesn't age like normal dragons. She began gathering paraphernalia from the places she traveled: a pretty flower, a shiny stone, hoping that each one would lead her back home. Eventually, her wares became better and her prices higher; she became well known for an assortment of quality goods for lower prices. She had an especially good eye for armor and weaponry: the sleek blades and smooth contours of light armor seemed to call her name.
The thrill of travel, the discomfort and unfamiliarity... it was all reassuring to her, in its own strange little way. She felt better about herself, stoic in the knowledge that she was not quite home, that there was always a new destination ahead. That maybe one day, she would find her true home and the dragons she was meant to be with.
So when he found her, she was awestruck.
His crashing lightning coat, the way each line diverged and crossed in ways only nature could replicate. His eyes were a soothing yet piercing sapphire blue, and when he looked at her, she felt as if she could not quite breathe normally.
He had come for her wares: weaponry, and armor, for his upcoming battles. But when he saw her, he couldn't keep his eyes off her. He was cautious, gentle... he had a softness in his gaze when he looked at her that was far removed from his everyday poise and arrogance.
When she asked him to take her along on his journeys, he agreed. They became the perfect pair, always looking out for each other, always supporting each other through everything. She tended his wounds and he scared off thieves and bandits in the night. They traveled the world together, never quite home, searching for the other dragons, ones with obsidian scales and coats and hairs, ones they were certain they would find and recognize despite the randomness of fate... or perhaps because of it.
