Biography
Loki, as a warrior, had been rather liked by his colleagues – for a time, at least. He was the best of them, taking the toughest jobs, earning the most money, commanding the most respect. If left unsatisfied by that day’s earnings, however, Loki was known to turn on his comrades, ‘borrowing’ what little they had obtained. The lust for wealth and power drove him to challenge the previous king for his throne, a battle which the brutal warrior easily won.
Yet Loki soon found the throne rather boring. There was little to do, no one to fight, no gold to earn or borrow. He found entertainment in other, barbaric ways: bloody fights in the coliseum, hunting games, and gambling games – rigged so he would win, of course, as he couldn’t stand to lose money. All of this and more earned him the title The Beast King, for many of his subjects, found his lust for battle akin to that of a wild beast.
Some believed he truly was just a beast, a monster, as he never appeared before his subject except to watch the battles from afar. Any and all manner of business went through and was conducted by his most loyal servant, a little Fae by the name of Iago, considered a coward and traitor by most of the other dragons for his lack of will to stand up to his master. Truly, Iago was afraid, but who wouldn’t be when serving a king as frightening as this?
