I'm so glad I hoard NotN apparel.
It's your first time meeting the commander of the more battle-hardened drakes of the Starry Strand. You were called to his private quarters, and you'd expected trophies of war. Old helmets, battle axes and other weaponry, perhaps even old claws or horns. What you found instead... definitely wasn't that. Sure, there was a back cavern with a molten pool of lava, rugs, and a few trophies here and there. However, the majority of his quarters were taken up by heated stones, stalactites, stalagmites, and other pools of heated water and food bowls. Lounging about were an array of reptiles, from gatorss to snakes. You don't even notice the Pearlcatcher until he speaks up from the corner, a gecko resting in his arms. "Well? Are you going to just stand there? The gharial has a tendency to run." You quickly move the stone back into place, closing off the cavern. "I'll get to talking to you in a moment. I need to calm these guys down first. You can help if you want. Make it faster for the both of us." After hesitating for a moment, you begin to look at the pets he keeps. You can't help but notice how they seem to have formed little cliques within cliques, with some rather unusual creatures staying far away from their common counterparts.
There's a warm spring set up for gators to the side. A couple seem to have come out to sun.
Some thick-leaved plants are growing near a small warm-water stream. There's a few geckos sunning on the plants.
Opposite the gator enclosure is a larger lava bed, with much warmer water nearby. A few gharials are lounging by the small pool.
A thicker patch of brush is growing by the gecko stream, naturally producing steam in that side of the cavern. A few skinks are taking in the mist, eyes closed.
Near the entrance to the back cavern is a space for snakes to bask. A few're trying, but they seem to have gotten tangled up in bows. The others seem just fine though.
