Mallory and their protégé, Dainara, was first introduced to the clan by Reanne. Since then, they have settled down, gaining a reputation as a quiet yet amiable gardener. They are a hermit, rarely participating in social events.

Should a dragon ever want to find Mallory, they would have a much greater chance in the jungle than in one of the Clan's numerous gardens. No one really knows what they do in there, or how they still manage to keep the gardens flourishing, but they leave them be.

The hatchling was already double their size, even with their peach coloured wings folded tightly against their body. Their scales were dark grey, seemingly shimmering under the spotted patches of sunlight, with smoke-like patterns running over the long body. Antlers adorned their forehead, orange stripes running through them. Striking blue eyes of Lightning stared at them, wide open.

What in Sornieth, Mallory wondered, was a hatchling from the Shifting Expanse up here?

Hesitantly, they took a step forward towards the Imperial hatchling, attempting to look as innocent as possible. The Imperial stepped back, body tense, ready to flee at any moment. Seeing her flinch, Mallory tried to put themselves in a more vulnerable position.

‘Hatchling,’ Mallory murmured, ‘I mean no harm.’

The hatchling stared back.

‘You promise?’ A weak, almost inaudible voice spoke.

Mallory smiled. ‘I promise’
