Who am I?

A shooting star...

Slash is largely unaffected by the meteor's course, except to grow more feathers. She has taken the event in stride, and would prefer her mate not be fussing around her as she attempts to cover for dragons who are ailing.

Vykos has finally backed off, to Slash's relief. She is mostly interested to hear of the aether—could she have been one, before whatever turned her into a tundra? That this is derided as unlikely has not deterred her.

Slash has set a nest for Greenskeeper Gathering, but remains withdrawn and wondering.

Slash is a dragon without a past. That she was not always a tundra is clear, but between tundra memory problems and the trauma of whatever Arcane surge caused her transformation, it seems to be lost. This has not stopped Slash from trying, with the sort of bullheaded stubbornness that drives most of the clan to think she was a mirror.

With a knack for battle and a constant urge to trial herself against opponents, Slash is currently employed as a member of the border patrol. She is also a common subject of study by the clan's miscreant scientists, though she lacks the general temperament to be one herself.

Still wild and wary, Slash is not the most approachable dragon in the clan. Her closest companion is Vykos, but she gets along well with Imminnyll and Colada as well. She is developing a friendship with Glynn, however, since the tundra-turned-banescale is similarly driven to investigate what the rest of the clan suspects is fruitless. Explorer's tendency to offer less-than-helpful suggestions on her past leads Slash to avoid her whenever possible.

Craft
Clumsy forefeet and a lack of facility with metalwork have been impediments to Slash developing a craft she would really appreciate—her tastes lean to weapons, hunting implements, and armor. Instead, she has been focusing on painting, and has been working on using that as a scrying technique with Glynn's help.

Physical description
Slash is a somewhat small, stocky tundra with fairly large wings. She is slow and clumsy overland, but a fast and agile flyer and a capable swimmer. Arcane mutations have coated her in an uneven spatter of dark feathers and half-formed eyes, and she is prone to gain new ones whenever magical energies rise.

Combat
Slash enjoys fighting, throwing herself tooth-and-claw into the fray. Despite this, she is not reckless, and may spend hours stalking an opponent, waiting for an ideal ambush. She has no set team, and has been the most valuable member of most of the teams she's tried joining.

Origin
Slash isn't quite certain who she is. She has faint memories of blood on her teeth—but the teeth aren't quite right? She remembers a battlescarred, pinkish arid land of parched, warped trees—her territory, won by might—but she isn't there. Her earliest clear memory is of Vykos standing over her, radiating concern. She doesn't really remember why she's called Slash, it's just the name he called her and she doesn't know anything to contradict it.

In truth, Slash was once a banescale that haunted the Starwood Strand, warlord of her own irradiated domain. Only Vykos has any idea, having admired her from afar before during merchant runs, but he is reluctant to offer her such an incomplete set of information.

Kin
Slash is the child of a Plague and an Ice banescale living in a large Arcane clan at the Observatory's base. She has no real memory of her parents, however, having left to live wild at fledging.

This coldly ambitious lizard is a gift from Vykos. Whatever society geckos have, she seeks to rise in... though how she intends to do so when bonded to a dragon in Fire remains to be seen.

Breed-changed from banescale so she can mate with Vykos for a breeding project... to produce a banescale. orz Logic, I haz this.
