Biography
Nia Mailroom Organizer | Employee #62520554 | TCC CYOA 2020 Nia was born into a small clan in scrubs, friendly even as a hatchling. She doesn’t remember a lot about the water condensation project the clan was founded for. What she really remembers are the packages. Growing up in an isolated community, the days when the couriers would come were her favorite. It was always exciting for her to see the things being shipped to her clan mates, though it took her awhile to realize that unopened packages were far more exciting to her than opened ones. The opened ones were usually machinery components or documents that young Nia had no interest in. It was this, in addition to the excitement on her clan mates’ faces when receiving parcels that sparked Nia’s interest in being a courier. Being a courier was Nia dream. She wanted to travel all across the expanse, carrying important documents. She wanted to be depended on and to be the one bringing the excitement of deliveries to many other isolated clans. |
“To send a letter is a good way to go somewhere without moving anything but your heart."

Unfortunately, her fantasies of being a recognized mail-carrier died a quick death to the realities of the job. Being just a small fae, she couldn’t carry nearly as much as her larger brethren. And while there are ways to get around the restrictions of her weight class, there was no way to get around the danger. Constantly having to be on the lookout for bandits and aggressive wildlife. Having to find rest alone in the middle of the wilderness. The knowledge that if something were to happen to her, no one would be able to find her in time to save her. These all took a serious toll on her health, and within a few months of starting her dream job she had to give it up.
But just because I had to give up on a dream, it doesn’t
mean that the reasons I wanted it aren’t valid.
Nia went looking for place where she could still apply her passion for deliveries, and a mailroom in the Spire was perfect for her. Originally working as part of a larger team, her enthusiasm and knowledge of the wider postal systems beyond the Spire helped her excel beyond her teammates. When OTAX83, the robotic assistant, was put in place, her hard work meant that, of all the employees, she was the one that received the coveted ‘Mailroom Organizer’ position. She became the heart of the mail system in her sector. She may not be able to see the excitement of the dragons receiving their packages from the mailroom, but the trade-off of having hundreds of dragons depending on her deliveries every day is well worth it. |
