Raised in the Nova Collective, Veritas grew up with the curious perspective of a Lightning dragon's natural innovative spirit combined with an Arcane dragon's curiosity and magical potential, creating a sort of perfect storm of disorganized intelligence. The result is a dragon who is fascinated by magic, but also wants to know how it works--how to understand and apply magic to everyday life and meld it with modern technology. Veritas treasures knowledge, and will read just about anything they can get their hands on, from nonfiction to adventure stories, although their favorite will always be history texts. Apart from being the Oasis Corporation's magic specialist, she also manages its archives, assisted by Saphira. They are responsible for most of the new texts that find their way into the Oasis Corporation archives anyway, so it's not really a tough job. Like Angel and Zan, Veritas was a transplant from the Nova Collective, sent to bolster the ranks of Oasis Corp. While initially Wisp was distrustful of someone who knew so much about magic--widely regarded as tech's antithesis--Veritas' passion for her studies sparked respect in Wisp. Eventually, that respect would blossom into something more. As mates, Wisp and Veritas work together to keep Oasis Corp on the cutting edge of technology. Veritas still struggles with certain aspects of corporate culture--they're not particularly social, and they're no good at selling things. Because of this, they usually work behind the scenes, doing research, reading up on new ideas, and figuring out how much power is too much power. They can usually be found in their lair, surrounded by books, charts, graphs, and inventions of dubious stability. Veritas' most secret desire is to serve as an ambassador for the Oasis Corporation and perhaps the Lightning Flight as a whole, due to their deep interest in the culture and magic of other flights, but their less-than-stellar social skills bar them from having their dream fully realized. Also, they doubt they'd be able to leave their home base at Oasis Corp for a long period of time. A few things could blow up. And she'd just miss being around everyone.
