It was a calm day for Bran, her crest fluttering in an expression of boredom. So far, there hadn't been any visitors yet, nor anyone that she needed to vet before sending off to Yachini for a final verdict on whether or not they got to stay. No rough idiots who thought they could brute-force their way in either (thank the Eleven).
She supposed she could ask Arlena if she could lend a book from the library to read the next time she had such a slow day. Perhaps a mystery novel? Or something more light-hearted? Ah, decisions.
"Ah, excuse me...?"
Her crest snapping upright in surprise, Bran, turned towards the speaker, embarrassed by her own inattentiveness. Goodness, she was usually better than this!
"Hello, welcome to the Purring Winds," she rattled off her usual spiel, voice as impassive as ever, even if her crest righted itself into what would be a welcoming smile on other breeds. "My name is Bran. Please state your business with our... clan..."
She trailed off slowly, registering the dragon in front of her properly as her crest once more shifted to surprise, recognition. The brown spines, the icy-blue wings, the mottled grey-blue pattern on his summercoat.
This- it couldn't be-
"Master Veil?" she asked, completely stumped, "is that you?"
"Ah, have we met?" the tundra- Veil chuckled, his voice rough with age. "Forgive me, my memory isn't the best, but I must say-
You do smell like a friend, little fae!"

An ancient fighter from times long past, as well as Sparga's and Bran's master and trainer, from before... before. He trains young dragons in the hope of sending them out in the world to protect and train others... though his tundra-memory often forgets who he has or has not trained. Bran and Sparga, having been drafted into mercenary work after completing their training with him, technically squandered that which he taught them... but they are making up for it now with the Purring Winds.
If Veil knows what they did, he doesn't show it. Rather, he seems pretty happy to get to know his old trainees once more. He enjoys fighting in the coliseum with them, but also enjoys watching the dragons they have trained themselves.
Veil is wise and pragmatic, if a little bit of an oddball. He is near unmatched when it comes to fights, even outwitting the eccentric fighting style of Sunne, which catches most people off-guard at first. Though ancient, this old dragon is not easily defeated, and definitely earns his title of "fighting master".
