ATRATE, THE ILLUSIONIST.

Atrate does not concern herself with matters of life and death, strength derived from a deity, or power granted by an eldritch beast. She fits in best with those who hone their skills from innate talent or decades of practice; sorcerers and other wizards make the best company. Her magic alters reality, and makes the unreal real. Paladins and clerics scoff at her antics, while other spell-casters look on in curiosity.

She lives in a large, weathered tower with Denethor. The two swap notes and spellbooks often. Denethor tries to teach her new spells whenever inspiration strikes, but Atrate has a hard time mimicking his movements. However, it's the thought that counts, and the Ridgeback is just happy to learn something new. Ayla and Azxa know that Atrate has no interest in either of their magics; they spend their visits discussing newly discovered illusions or perilous adventures. Occasionally, they succeed in goading Atrate out of the tower. The illusionist pretends that their presence bothers her, but in truth, she enjoys the pair's company.

Although she has no hatchlings of her own, she's been elected 'clan mom'. She cares for all of her clanmates, bakes cookies for any visitors, and offers surprisingly good advice. If she can't help you, she'll find someone who can.
