- - - Andras edged closer to the pile of bones, his father watched him with a worried expression. His brother had gone through the ceremony of choosing his bones before him. Andras knew that something was very wrong with his older sibling, his plumage was all patchy and strangely discolored. He hadn’t seen him since he had chosen his bones. Would he disappear, too, like his older brother? Was that why his father seemed so worried?
Andras looked at the bones in front of him, trying to discern if any felt differently from the one lying next to it for him. He could feel…something. But it was vague. In the end, he decided to close his eyes and reached blindly into the pile. He pulled three bones from it. Mind. Wind. Nature.

- - - As his father’s words faded, Andras opened his eyes again. He wasn’t sure what exactly those words meant but to him, they didn’t seem too bad. Little did he know how much pain his constant longing for the Unknown would cause him and those he loved.
