BEATRICE - Caravan Leader
It is not a privilege to be included in Beatrice's family quilt. If you are one of her loved ones, it is simply your right.
The quilt hangs on the wall inside her personal wagon, the caravan flagship. When she started it, it was only a few scraps of fabric held together by a beginner's clumsy stitches. Lavender flowers on cream for herself, a heraldic Guardian silhouette for Apophis, and a smattering of others belonging to dragons who have since split off from the caravan to find their own way in the world. In those days, it was not a quilt so much as a dish towel at best.
Now, though, it is a masterpiece, a portrait of everything Beatrice has held dear in her life, and she looks on it with pride when she rises each morning.
And her caravan? She looks on that with adoration.
What began as an endeavor to bring light and love to the more neglected corners of Sornieth is now a labor of love in its purest form. Though many members of Beatrice's caravan take up useful trades to help financially pave the way through the world, the point is not to be a roving band of merchants in search of a profit. The point is to be a family.
Beatrice lacked a tight family structure in her earliest days, which spurred her onto this journey to adopt the lonesome dragons of Sornieth. If her birth family would not remain close, then she aimed to build a family worth holding near and dear to her heart. The caravan started as one little wagon pulled by one old Rambra, the product of one boundless heart, and it has grown with aplomb in the years since.
With Apophis to ensure the caravan's safety (and to flirt with, when the young ones aren't watching or climbing all over his back), and a host of eager dragons ready to finally have love to call their own, very little will stand in the caravan's way. Beatrice firmly believes that there's nothing a little time and a lot of love can't fix, and she holds up her family as proof. Each dragon once alone, now they make up a greater whole. Together, they hunt and trade and sing and dance and explore, approaching whatever Sornieth throws their way with the faith that they can succeed while working together. No one is left out in the cold or pushed to the fringes, and even when there is trouble between members of the caravan, it never lasts. At the end of the day, the bonds formed in the caravan are stronger than ties of blood, and all of the dragons look to Beatrice to guide them forward together.
