Biography
Even in the Tales of Terror, stories about the Scarred Wasteland are few and far between. The odds of starvation, or mutation, are too realistically high for a mere story to tap into. On top of that, it's hard to be more frightening than the Wasteland itself, where you can run into all kinds of animated skeletons, goo monsters, carrion eaters, and aberrations. When reality is scarier than the imagination, you know you're living in a nightmare.
When you do actually get a scary story about the Wasteland, the stories still don't mention the howls of pain in the night, or the way the bones seem to crack and bend of their own accord. In fact, it is almost certain that the massive ribcage with actual gnawing marks on the massive bones has been overhead no less than twenty minutes, despite hurrying towards the light. Not to mention the sounds of a hulking beast prowling outside the carcass...
"This is not the place for you."The soothing voice is like cool water over the parched desert sand, comforting and calm. "The Abiding Boneyards do not abide fools, the Rotrock Rim does not forgive those that do not know the paths. Plague values life as much as death, especially in this primordial place. Follow me. I will bring you to safety."
The deep blue shine of the Wildclaw's scales reflect enough of the moons' light to pick a path through the surrounding bone and not lose sight of her. It doesn't take long until the bones part around a small clearing. In the center, a doorway made of bone white trees and deep red creepers, and without hesitation the female steps through. Following her leads to the perfect view of a clan sprawled out in a small valley within the Hellwell Undercroft, the area protected by tall bone walls and wicked spiked trees. Soft lights of blue and red seem to light the pathways between the areas on the ground and the buildings that look carved right out of the skull itself, and the whole area has that ethereal feel of being an illusion in the dark. It's strange, but some of the buildings almost look to be grown out of trees, like the Wilds is just right there, if only one could reach out and touch them.
Crimson eyes seemed to glow as the wildclaw straightened, giving a soothing smile. "Welcome to the home of the Shaidar Siorai, traveler." Her voice is kind, welcoming, not nearly as harsh as Plague's reputation would expect. "Please, rest. We can get you where you need to go in the morning. But be careful while you are here. After all...
