Biography
Born in the depths of an old mine, a singular egg hatched surrounded by the glimmering shimmering stones of deep hidden treasures and wealth. A hatchling would know nothing of currency and greed but only the beauty of her home. Without a brood mother to guide her Jade was lost in the catacombs of crystalline structures deep in an arcane cave, carved out by years of harsh winds and rain which now died down to gentle breezes as the forest grew in around it. She lived off of deep dwelling bugs and the moisture of mountain water fresh and cold as it trickled down between the cracks of old rocks. Of course an unending curiosity could not be sated by marvelous rocks alone.
As a young and growing adolescent Jade took the great effort of traveling from crook and cranny to cavern and crevasse among the fluorescent rocks of many shades. It was a long journey from the dark deep and out into the mouth of her old home. As harrowing as the trek was found herself to be revived by the sights and smells alone: damp moss, tree bark, fresh ocean breeze with that salty tang in the air. Flowers bloomed nearby to signal that it was now spring time, not that Jade knew about seasonal sundries, there was no change in temperature down in her place of hatching. She learned a great many things in her time exploring this new wide world, like that her wings were used for more than climbing picks in tough spots among rocks. The fragile butterfly patterned canvas of wings was meant for flight!for gliding and sightseeing above the land! All it took was one strong breeze and a shift of her magnificent cornflower colored wings before her body caught adrift into the air, which was indeed a horrifying experience for a first timer.
As an adult Jade was a bit awkward, not great with social cues and unsure of her relationships with other dragons. She did not prefer solitude though, and due to her lack of social skills she found friends in familiars and forest creatures. Why squabble about unending drama with spirals and stormgliders when she could be enjoying a good sun bask with basilisks? Jade also enjoyed the more calming activities: such as stacking stones by the river, or harvesting crops planted before the winter season hit. Collecting shiny beetle wings and feathers of which to decorate a nest high up in the mountains surrounded by both rocks and mountain trees took up most of her time. Home decorating was often the highlight of her day! A magnificent horn to add among her stack of branches or even a collection of dried tulip petals to sprinkle among the mix of downy soft.
