Biography

Crystaluna, or Crysta as she likes to be called, is a slightly odd little dragon. Her mind works differently from other dragons, and she has a huge imagination. She likes to imagine what it would be like to live the life of others, and as a result of her constant wondering what others are feeling or thinking, she is a very empathetic dragon.
Though she has the mind of a hatchling, she is also at a slightly higher level of maturity in some cases than the other permababies, and has occasionally freaked out dragons who are new to the clan by accidentally revealing her talent for guessing thoughts and feelings.
One of Crysta's favourite hobbies is practising magic. Though she isn't that good at it, she works tirelessly during her early morning lessons with the clan's arcane flight representative and mage, Lavender. The bright coatl was persuaded by Crysta to try and teach her the ways of magic, and since then they have been having little tutor sessions at least once every fortnight.

Innocent blue eyes dance around the lair. With each dragon they land upon, Crysta’s mind begins to wander.

What would it be like to live a day in Autumn’s scales? So easily flustered, blushing at the merciless flirtations of Aoloa. Crysta giggles at the thought.

Or Bernadette! That fierce warrioress, whose pride and joy stem from fighting in the coliseum. The little wildclaw’s vibrant eyes sparkle as she imagines herself facing off against foes in fierce combat.

Her gaze turns next to Kassandra, noble and loyal Queen, who has led her clan to greatness. Her compassion and tenderness have always spoken to Crysta. The dragon sighs, her heart heavy as she remembers the pain Kassandra felt at the loss of her mother. So much sorrow and hurt, so much responsibility on the fae’s shoulders.

A shimmer of silk catches Crysta’s attention. Orb! That most fashionable Spiral, whose outfits adorn so many in the clan. Crysta smiles fondly, imagining a day spent designing and sewing alongside Orb. She can almost feel the soft brush of the fabric against her scales…

A brush of cold air against Crysta’s tail makes her turn. Midna breezes past, snow falling softly in her wake. Quick of wit, words come easily to Midna, a born diplomat. Her path to her chosen role was not easy...but now Crysta can feel the contentment and satisfaction within the Spiral. Crysta inhales and exhales slowly, her eyes closed, focusing on that feeling. The surety of purpose within Midna is calming to her.

Crysta lets out a content sigh. The Electra Clan’s members are diverse and unique. So many personalities and passions dwell within. To watch the other dragons, to spend time imagining herself living their lives, is one of her greatest joys.

They always say how hatchlings grow up so fast, and how the parents need to enjoy their children before they grow out of the nest. It seemed that no one ever told the children to enjoy youth while they still had it before they lost their wonder and innocence.
Crystaluna knew she was getting older. She could feel herself aging, her scales shifting, her claws lengthening. She had always been the youngest out of all her friends, a fact that used to bother her, but now she was grateful for it. Everyone she knew had grown up, and as they did so they seemed to change. They stopped wanting to play and started to care more about what the grownups were doing. They had to work on building the clan, hunting and scavenging for food and materials instead of having fun messing around. It was a rude awakening for Crystaluna, but a necessary one as she saw it. She never wanted to stop having fun, she never wanted to do all the boring things that the adults do, so she would find a way to stay a hatchling forever!
It took a long time and a lot of subtle questioning, but she eventually gathered enough information to know that her best bet was a Vial of Naivety and a Scroll of Eternal Youth. She was old enough to be allowed at the market place, which was good, but she didn’t have nearly enough gems to buy either item, which was bad. She started asking around for a job to earn the money, but no one was interested in hiring a half-grown child. Hopeless and upset, she sat down behind one of the tents and cried, her dreams of eternal fun and happiness slipping away. Suddenly, she felt a gentle claw tap her shoulder.
Crystaluna was startled and quickly wiped her eyes as they were met with the sight of a cheerful looking hatchling, a golden veined Imperial with a clever smile and wise eyes. His grin and his radiant eyes were so compellingly radiant Crystaluna couldn’t help but smile back. The Imperial asked her, “Why are you crying?” Sniffling, she replied, “Because I don’t want to grow up, but I don’t have the gems to get a Scroll of Eternal Youth.” The Imperial tapped his chin, pondering for a moment. “Well, I know someone who might be willing to help you. They’re the one that gave ME a scroll when I asked, so I’m sure if you talk to them, they’ll give you one too!” Crystaluna’s jaw dropped slightly. “You’re an eternally youthful??” The Imperial grinned, puffing out his chest a little. “We prefer the term permababs.”
The dragon that the Imperial brought her to did indeed listen to Crystaluna’s plight, and even agreed to help her on one condition. The dragon requested that the little Wildclaw never stop finding ways to have fun, and that she enjoy her eternal youth to the fullest and make life brighter and happier for all that she could. Crystaluna agreed, and she was presented with the scroll and the vial she needed.
From that day forward, she has spent her time frolicking around her clan, greeting each new day with a flowery disposition and ensuring that no one goes by with a frown on their face if she can help it. She stayed friends with the hatchlings that grew up, and she occasionally volunteered to help them work on the clan, though she always found a way to turn it into some kind of game. With her presence and cheer, she managed to remind her clan of what it’s like to be a child.
