Daphne

When asked about her youth, Daphne is never one for telling stories. After all, what can be spoken of a broken childhood, years of youth spent fleeing from those hunting her and her kin, for one reason or another? Being of the Strider bloodline never brought her or her sisters any good fortune, but neither did being a descendant of the Glitch Queen- twofold.

Daphne lost contact with her two elder sisters and parents after an attack by the creatures that hunted them. She witnessed the mass destruction of her species, and barely survived it. That caused her to leave the vast jungles of the Viridian Labyrinth, alone, and she naively thought that she would be safe outside of the territory which held the majority of her problems. She was wrong.

Naomi is well known in Sornieth, and dragons of all kinds always think that it's interesting that she has a famous ancestor like her- The Gatekeeper, the Glitch Queen, but Daphne had never met any of Naomi's descendants aside from her father, her sisters, up until her arrival in Sanctuary of course, but even then.. it was a strange shock to her, seeing so many of her relatives- distant or close- in one location.

She is filled with conflict about her heritage. On one hand, she may reject her Naomi heritage from time-to-time, because she feels horrified how some would praise that side of her heritage while the other half suffered immensely, and on the other hand, she may hide her Strider heritage from the ever-present danger that faces her, and fully identify as a Naomi Descendant. She walks a thin line between sound and scared.

In places where she knows she is safe from harm, like her new home in Sanctuary, she feels a lot of responsibility to represent her culture in the best way. After all, she is likely the only Strider a lot of dragons may meet, making sure that they have a good impression of her subspecies is important.

She resides within the secure hollow of a tall pine tree, her only neighbor being Tarot, who resides in a burrow beneath the tree's roots. The two are far removed from the bustle of Sanctuary's center, but they prefer to remain out of immediate contact. Daphne is a perfectionist, she tries her hardest to make sure that her hollow is secure, protected from several forms of danger, and that she always has a steady supply of food in her home.

She expresses love through her cooking. When she was young, her family never had much to eat, so now that she has enough food to where she can give some away, it is considered one of the highest honors she can bestow whenever she trusts someone with a meal that she prepared for them.
