Sitting in the shade, the petals of the Sakura tree gently wafted down. He thought of the blossoms, so beautiful and lovely, yet only to last a week. So little time, a short period when they are there. Then they drift and fall, landing softly onto the grass. Then the tree is green, just like the others. Nothing makes it different. Cherries come, sweet fruit, but the blossom are the main attraction.

He sat under the tree, wondering this: why can’t the tree bear blossom all year long? Why can it not keep serenity?

He yearned for something that was as beautiful as the Sakura, but all year long and forever. He found nothing. Then, as he sat under the tree once more, a thought came to him. His pelt was pink, his fur marked with rosettes. He would be the beauty whilst the tree cannot. He will be Sakura, cherry blossom.

And so he became. He followed a lifestyle similar to a guardian, protecting and caretaking the tree. Now, when the tree was bare in winter, or green in summer, he would still be the blossoms, a part of the tree.
