Cain is strategic, reserved, and well-respected. Like his father, he is charming, charismatic, and handsome. He has a disdain for fellow Keepers who have committed crimes. Cain is compassionate as he told Irador to keep Aylin out of their search for the Horrorbeasts so they would not put their hatchlings life’s in danger. Cain was not willing to fall in love with or have an attachment to someone as he fears that they will eventually leave him and he will remain immortal.

Cain claimed to admire Aylin as a Sentinel. In which he said, "the only reason I came here was so I could finally see you in action firsthand." This, however, is later proven to be a lie. While he did come for Aylin, it had nothing to do with her detective skills, but rather because he knew she made him vulnerable.

He is very determined in his goal, as shown by his multiple, and often extremely painful, attempts at peace. However, after getting Aylin to fall in love with him, Cain refused to let her say the words, afraid to hurt her if he were to successfully die, showing that he is not as ruthless as he has made himself out to be. It was later suggested that it was Cain’s selfless desire to keep Aylin from getting hurt that caused him to believe he was deserving of the mortality he so desperately desired and got rid of the mark.
MEANING OF NAME:

The name Cain is a Hebrew name. In Hebrew the meaning of the name Cain is: Spear; possessed.
