Sif

It was her dream to be the Master Strategist but Loki was making it hard. He was cunning, quick to figure out what was going on. Strategy came easy to him, and he was always two steps ahead. Sif worked twice as hard and still fell just short of his level. Everyone knew Frigga favored Loki, the mischievous God. They all thought that he would end up with the title of Asgard's Master Strategist. Sif would just have to prove them wrong.

She heard the jeers and gibes of other dragons. All of them degrading her and talking as if she couldn't hear them. Yes, she was a Fae. Yes, she was a girl, but did that mean she was weak? Did that mean she couldn't become stronger? Under Frigga she trained. She worked hard and learned quickly. She climbed ranks quickly, her skills in battle and in strategy matched only by the brothers Thor and Loki. She was so close to her dream. She felt as though she could reach it.

"Ha. You can't even figure out this easy tactic? Some strategist you are. I bet you won't even make it to warrior status!" Loki taunted. Sif was admittedly having trouble figuring out Frigga's current assignment.

"Just you wait! I'll prove I'm better than you and I'll rub that smug face of yours in the dirt!" Sif retorted. She flew up and looked at the board differently. Still, she couldn't figure it out. She slumped to the ground, defeated until Thor came over and sat next to her.

"The bigger they are the harder they fall. Loki's going to crash and burn at the rate he's going." Thor joked.

Suddenly Sif had an idea. "That's it!"

She moved a couple pieces and set up her team around the board's canyon. "I can cause an avalanche!"

Loki's jaw dropped to the floor. Why hadn't he considered that? He would have corralled the enemy and cornered them.

"Maybe you'll make a fine Master Strategist!" Thor said in admiration. Sif agreed. That's what she wanted to do. That's what she wanted to be. And she'll become it too, even if it means competing with Loki for the title.
