Recluse

No one is sure how but for whatever reason this nocturne's egg was found at the bottom of a slimy and musty curious kettle. This kettle carried this egg for days and hissed whenever someone tried to peek inside. The lair worried that eventually it would either eat the egg entirely or let it roll around until it rotted and the smell would be too much.
After a week it was clear that wasn't the case.
A small, slimy baby nocturne crawled out and right into the main den where everyone was known to congregate. Needless to say more than a few just screamed in terror.

Corryn is incredibly self-conscious. She isn't the first to have the particularly odd genes but the circumstances of her birth left others side-eyeing her more often than the rest. The cauldron still follows her around as her loyal familiar and closest friend. She was bullied for her slime and it messed with her self-esteem to the point she isolated herself from others.
Even seeing others accept the newer dragons with the same afflictions as her didn't help much, she's still too nervous to interact with others because she feels that all they see is her oozing skin. Once, she tried to go to the Arcane territories and see if it could be fixed...instead she got a bunch of glowing spikes added to her body and now she never comes out during the day. She tends to have everything she needs delivered to her. Hence, how she met Kestrel.

Kestrel is the most beautiful dragon she's ever seen and it blows her mind that such a pretty dragon actually likes her.
Corryn and Kestrel share a deep bond and the nocturne values it greatly. Very slowly she is learning to socialize with her den-mates but is only comfortable with Kestrel helping her.
Kreepii is the closest she's ever had to a mother and the kettle seems to feel the same way. Kreepii cant really speak except in hisses and bubble pops but she always makes sure that Corryn is eating enough and sleeping well.

Llanka's sect is pretty cool with her and she likes talking to them since many think her magic induced shard-hide and slimy skin is very befitting of a Shadow dragon. They're nice enough but she doesn't really stick around when they start the 'sermons.' The stuff they get up to really creeps her out.

When Kestrel brought baby Roanoen home, she was very hesitant at first to interact with him. He wasn't a dragon and she didn't even remember having real parents! All she's ever had is Kreepii. How could she raise a little one when she's only known a sentient kettle raising her and barely interacts with other dragons as it is?
Turns out it's easier than she thought. Kestrel believes in her and always encourages Corryn to hold him. Roanoen clearly needs loving caretakers and he doesn't seem to care that he has two mothers that look nothing like him.
As long as Corryn has both of them, this is just another thing she's more than happy to give a shot. She was more prepared when Serila was adopted.
