Biography
Aravi Bio
Strong of heart and body, Aravi's far quicker to befriend another than he is to fight them. Always looking for another travelling companion, he's a rather gentle man (especially for a barbarian) and prefers to finish fights rather than start them. Immensely protective of his friends and fellow travellers, Aravi finds himself quick to violence whenever they're threatened.
However, Aravi takes no joy in combat despite his skill in it. He refuses to cause unnecessary harm, especially to innocents and cannot stand by and watch others do so. Despite his large heart and many friends, he has yet to learn how to properly accept a compliment and several of his more outgoing companions revel in the barbarian's stuttered responses to such.
Short story - Strength of a Lion, Heart of a Lamb
Aravi trekked through the forest, on his way to gather firewood for his companions who were already setting up camp. The august heat had set in fast, and the humidity in the air did nothing to alleviate it as sweat dripped down his forehead. A cry sounded from the woods, like a woman screaming out in pain, in terror. Aravi ran towards it, firewood forgotten for the sake of an innocent.
He looked around the woods, and another scream echoed. Aravi moved towards it, drawn to the sound, to the sound of suffering. Before him was a fox, its leg broken by a trap, the rope bound to it long rotten. No one would come back for it, a device left to make another creature suffer.
The barbarian shushed the creature as he neared it, hoping it wouldn't lash out against him and bite as he leaned down to grab the trap. He wrenched it open, the trap snapping in two as he bent it round. The fox laid against his arm where it met the earth, unable to support itself. He gently scooped up the tiny creature, not yet fully grown, to take it back to the camp with him.
It trusted him, knew he meant no harm as it stayed tucked against his neck where he laid it on his broad shoulders. Aravi went back to get the firewood, the small creature bumping the top of its head up against Aravi's chin as it nuzzled against him. He smiled as he gathered up the firewood to head back to camp, surely one of his companions could heal their new friend?
