Biography

WINGED GIFT

Winged Gift's name not only reveals the depth of her father's love for her, but a perfect encapsulation of the word "irony". You'll scarce meet a guardian nearly as self-important as she is, designating her charge as "the receiver of pretty gifts" (in her own words, to her exasperated mother). Though she comes from a religious background, she only rarely practices, and when she does it's largely to win over the favor of fellow worshipers and family members in the hope of securing presents from them. She cycles through expensive jewelry the way oil works its way through a machine, always on the lookout for the latest and greatest in fashion to adorn herself in and with.

Does Gift have any skills to speak of, past her uncanny ability to get dragons to continue talking to her in spite of her wretched personality? It has been said by those closest to her - which tend to be those with the deepest pockets - that in secret, she is quite the artist, creating sensitive landscapes and portraits, the likes of which she rarely reveals to others in fear of being mocked. Perhaps underneath all her bile and bossiness, there is a scared little artist waiting for the permission to be expressed?

Ever since Winged Gift arrived at The Forgotten Kingdom, she originally thought the dragons there wouldn't have any form of jewelry or anything like that. As she walked around the Sanctum, Obsidian guiding her and introducing her to the other dragons, she noticed quite a few had bracelets or necklaces, most of which had beautiful gemstones. After a bit of walking around, she saw a Skydancer poke his head out of a small hole in the ground, take a look at her, come out of the hole a little more, before noticing the bracelet she wore, which was falling apart, and disappearing back into his hole. She was confused at first, before Obsidian told her his name was Arizo, and he made jewelry using gems he found in the woods. She nodded, and they headed of to get something to eat.

After a couple of days of not seeing Arizo, Gift couldn't help but be a little worried about him. Had he gotten hurt? Was he okay? She sat there, worried about him, until he suddenly came in and walked up to her, handing her a ruby choker. He sat there almost hopefully, as she put it on, looking down at it the best she could. "So," he said, startling her slightly, "what do you think?"

Winged Gift couldn't help but smile, glad to have personally received a gift from the jewelry maker of the Ruined Sanctum. "I like it," she said, "it's beautiful, just like you." She suddenly clasped her claws over her mouth as she though, did I just say that out loud? She blushed lightly, hoping he would just ignore it, but alas, he didn't.

Arizo stared at her, a light, kind of hard to see blush on his own face. "Do you really think that?" He asked her. When Gift nodded, he couldn't help but jump around with joy. "I can't believe it," he exclaimed, while Gift stared at him. "You love both me and my jewelry!" She could only smile and nod at him, wondering silently how this had happened so soon after her arrival at the Sanctum. She decided not to question it, and got up to go get her sketchbook with her drawings in it, thinking it was only best if she showed him. He quite liked them, and even told her that he also liked to draw, but he had never shown anyone his drawings. When Gift asked to see them, he was hesitant at first, before he finally decided to show her them, making her the first and only dragon to currently see his drawings, and what she saw amazed her. They were drawings of the goddess that the temple the Sanctum was located in was built for. She couldn't help but find them to be amazingly beautiful, even though the goddess was one of death and destruction, it was like Arizo had captured all her good aspects.

Since that day, they would talk nonstop and show each other their drawings. Some have wondered whether they will have hatchlings together or not, but only time will tell how far the relationship between Winged Gift and Arizo will go.
