You take off, not even checking to make sure Emry and Infiniti were doing the same. If they did this often, then they knew how to take care of themselves.
You aren't sure how far you run, only that it isn't long before you start to slow down. Looking over your shoulder, you can't see Ajani, so you assume you got away with it. Then, you abruptly run into someone, tumbling over them and falling on your face in your haste to not touch them more than you already have.
Getting up, you formally take in your new companion. They are a pale yellow dragon with eye-filled wings spread wide behind them. You cower some under the collective gaze, even though the tundra's primary eyes are covered by a horned skull. An ensorcelled volume flies beside them, and you can feel its eyes on you as well.
The two of you are silent as they seemingly stare you down. Chills, or what you can argue is adrenaline, go down your spine. As most of the eyes begin to turn elsewhere, they open their mouth to speak. "Your transgressions hang off of you like a second skin. Some are well-meaning while others are sinister. Tell me, what is it that you have come to this place for? For I will not allow someone to bring more chaos to us."
There's an undercurrent of power in their tone that makes you bow your head. Were they referencing what just happened with Ajani? But that wasn't your fault, you were an innocent bystander! Or... were you?
