Biography
|
When meeting the blacksmiths in Sorien's clan, many are often surprised to see Aiden, not only a Mirror working a rather stationary profession, but a Nature dragon to boot. However one sharp quip from her, and it's quickly apparent the fire from her personality can light a forge all on its own.
Aiden was always a bit of an oddball, her fascination with the gleaming forges completely lost on both her species and her Flight. Her pack was constantly on her case as a young Mirror, starting fires and trying to mold things out of poorly melted rocks and crude ores when she should have been hunting, scaring away all the prey in the process. Their frustrations did nothing to silence her stubborn defiant spirit, and when they finally told her to either put this absurd obsession aside or leave, Aiden simply scoffed and walked off without another word. She began traveling around to open clans to see if there were any blacksmiths that could teach her everything there was to know of her hobby. Every dragon that was willing to depart with some craft secrets she would shadow like a sponge, and the ones that would laugh her out of the room she defiantly took as a vengeful challenge, promising she'd perfect her craft so masterfully it would shut them up permanently. Though Sorien already had a blacksmith working under him when Aiden arrived seeking a permanent shop, he noted the Imperial's spirit wasn't what it could be, and perhaps it would be good for both the clan and his uninspired smith if she were there to show her hand. Salazar had been insulted when she dared to call him out on the quality of the work he was giving his clan, only to become thoroughly rattled after she'd reforged one of his plain metal tail guards into a work of art. Since then, something has snapped in the Imperial as their rocky introduction quickly turned into a fiery rivalry. Their constant bickering threatens to drown out their own hammers, an ongoing exchange of criticisms and challenges to one up the other. It's the most exhilarating thing Aiden has ever experienced in her career, to finally have a full fledged Fire dragon regarding her so seriously as both an equal and a competition. What she fought so hard for all her life, she's finally achieved. |

In between all their petty bickering and acting as if the other is the bane of their existence, Salazar has slowly but gradually revealed little things here and there that Aiden's been able to piece together, the reason behind his strange decline. She was a bit taken aback when Sorien very gratefully mused to her how much the Imperial has perked up since she came along, and seeing how much her hand has appeared in the grumpy blacksmith's revival back into the fiery dragon he once was has her feeling... strange. For all she cares, the two cannot stand each other, and she simply can't wait for the day he finally drops dead. Especially when Asama obnoxiously yells at them to just shut up and kiss already so she can go to sleep-
