Tanja

Tanja had been thrilled to find that she was capable of withstanding the heart of the Great Furnace, that was until she found that it meant leaving her parents to learn her craft, long before she was old enough to be on her own. Her parents had been proud of her, only the wealthiest of dragon clans could deny the benefit of having a member of their clan working in the Great Furnace, but Tanja could sense fear in their faces as well, and that was not something she would forget.

The day she left her mother pulled her aside and whispered in her ear:
“learn how to defend yourself. No imperial is safe alive, and we owe it to our friends to spare them from one that is dead.”

She spent her days in the forge, training to create delicate wires, sprockets and bolts to be sold in the Shifting expanse. She was good at it, though the work was sometimes duller than she would like. She soon found herself giving some of her less-skilled acquaintances tips to help them continue at the pace required by their overseers, or sneaking a few of her own completed goods into their piles, to keep them from getting in trouble. It wasn’t until she was promoted to an apprenticeship that management found out. She and the other teams were forced to watch as her former teammates were punished, some of them permanently sent home. Part of her worried that it had been her fault. If only she’d turned down the promotion, or worked a bit harder to make sure they could keep up in her absence…but deep down she knew that it wasn’t her fault, it was the fault of greed. Fury began to burn like the fire of the Flamecaller within her. Her new master asked what she wanted to make her specialty, and she didn’t hesitate: Weapons.

Every evening she learned to defend herself. She sparred with members of her barracks, or, on rare occasions when she was allowed to go home, with her parents and clanmates. Her clan always gushed about her progress, and many of them stared in awe at the treasure she brought home from the forge. They always supported her, always had her back, even when she lost a practice duel, every failure was a lesson, and every triumph was a sign of growth. At night, she continued to train in her dreams, but when she slept, her opponents weren't friends with new tricks, or clan elders imparting wisdom, they were wealthy forgemasters and to the death. She pictured ripping open the hides of greedy dragons, she felt her heart pound with vengeance as she dogged their malicious attacks. Once, her mother pulled her out of her dreams, and while she comforted her with words, Tanja could feel her warning her with her eyes.







Metalworker when she isn't busy in the golem workshop/portal. Works with Perses a lot.

Outfit/scene/genes are all right where I want them (the scene was made for her I think).

Needs lore.

Misses her home flight, but is hesitant to go back since this is her home now, and she's also a bit scared to see what the guild rivalries have done to her homeland.
