an encounter with storm
As you wander around aimlessly, looking for something to do, you stumble across a collection of wagons. If your memory serves you right, they belonged to a small merchant group who opened up shop here a couple of weeks ago. There are three in total, all colourfully and uniquely decorated, except for the last one, which is simply painted black with a singular blue curtain draped down. It is, coincidentally, the only one not currently closed, and from where you stand you can make out a dark grey and blue figure standing inside the wagon. Curiosity peaked, you head on over to the wagon. Might as well see what they're up to.
From nearby you can see that the wagon isn't quite as bland as you'd initially believed: subtle, angular patterns are carved into the sides, framing tiny red gemstones. The curtain is lacking in patterning but worn from extensive use. Before you can ponder further the Skydancer inside the cart loudly clears her throat, clearly annoyed at the fact that you were standing by her cart not doing anything for what had to be at least a couple of minutes. "Hey. You gonna buy anything or what?" Her voice sounds deep and kind of gravelly, and also very, very annoyed. Quickly, you nod your head, not wanting to test her patience any more.
The dark grey Skydancer mutters something under her breath before making a half-hearted gesture at the shelves next to her. "Here's some stuff then, prices are labelled on everything. Don't take too long." Or else. The unsaid threat hangs in the air for a little bit before you take a good look at what she was pointing at. The shelves are messily filled to the brim, but as she stated, you can clearly make out labels on every little knickknack. Beads, along with porcelain cups and pots in every colour litter the shelves, all handmade from the looks of it. You ask if she made it all herself because it honestly looks really nice. She blushes deeply, the peacock-like patterns on her feathers starting to glow slightly before she covers her face with her claws.
"Y-Yeah they are. I make everything myself, you got a p-problem with that?" Somehow, she sounds both embarrassed and proud at the same time. Huh.
In the end, you settle on a couple of simple beige teacups. They remind you of the ones Plevier had and, in the back of your mind, you wonder if he got them from the same place. You guess her stuff must be pretty popular around here. The Skydancer still looks a bit flustered from your earlier comment, and silently puts the cups in a paper bag while you slide a pouch of Treasure over the counter. As you walk away from the wagon, you suddenly realise you never even asked for her name. Whoops.
