Anakin's Story
  • Most dragons have two ordinary parents. Anakin's father was magic itself. As such, though Fire was his primary element, he is a dragon known as an Omni, meaning he is capable of using any element of magic.
  • Due to his parentage he is also a Morphose, which in my lore is a dragon that is capable of turning into any breed. Since breed change magic exists in FR, I headcanon the existence of dragons that can do it naturally. His two main forms are Vader, his form when he becomes angry, and Sandakin, the form he's cursed to turn into whenever he acts too egotistically.

    Sandakin's form
  • Fire-territory parents (biological mother and non-biological father who was her mate) were very poor and knew he was destined for something special. So given that at a very young age he was quite proficient in engineering, they sent him away from home to study. His mom Shmi was being 100% supportive of him (though rather misguided given who she sent him to), but his dad secretly wanted to get him out of the nest because he thought that Shmi had cheated on him and that's why Anakin isn't biologically his son. Anakin studied engineering as a personal apprentice to the Flamecaller and the Stormcatcher and had a terrible time. The Flamecaller wasn't so bad, but sometimes she had a temper and as for the Stormcatcher? You've seen how hard he works his workers and obviously his workaholic, Type A personality clashes with Anakin who hates being told what to do.
  • When he was the dragon equivalent of 18 years old, he ran away from the Stormcatcher and set out on his own. But after years of living under a roof of a dad who wasn't sure if he wanted him and a deity that drives his workers to the bone, he wouldn't be able to identify a good master even if they hit him in the face. So he ended up tempted by a dragon named Sidious, who was a Shade-influenced dragon that told Anakin that he could get revenge on the Stormcatcher and his father if he learned forbidden magics. Anakin used his shifting powers as a Morphose to change his appearance, taking on the name and guise of Vader.
  • He soon found that the dark power that Sidious taught him is an awful lot like a drug. At first it's great! But then once you keep using it, you really start to suffer.
  • He eventually managed to get out of his terrible situation when he met a young knight from The Order of Lumeni (which is the Tiandi Xueyuan's military force) known as Padmé Amidala. The two at first had an adversarial relationship, with Padmé despising Vader for how he served Sidious and the Shade in Sidious' plans to take over Sornieth. But Vader soon found himself falling in love with the beautiful, sweet Padmé, who sensed the conflict within him about what he really wanted to be using his magic for. They teamed up together and killed Sidious (who eventually managed to come back from the dead, but that's a story for another time).
  • Padmé took him to the Tiandi Xueyuan, where he was rehabilitated and where he started to think about starting a new life. He was not cut out for academics and not cut out for teaching children, that much was certain. But he was still brilliant and still definitely a worthy member of the community. Under Kenobi's mentorship he became a member of the Order of Lumeni as well as the head of the Tiandi Xueyuan's search and rescue.
  • This was all before Tianhou took over the Tiandi Xueyuan, which Anakin obviously had a problem with. As soon as Tianhou started to make life hellish for the TDXY, he was up and starting a whole revolution. Both he and Padmé fought alongside Beilun and Luxien in the final battle against Tianhou and her evil forces, during which Tianhou attacked Anakin using her infamous cursed poison, leaving him scarred and reliant on cybernetics to function. (The only form he has in which he's not reliant on cybernetics of some sort is his Sandakin form, which very much annoys him.)
  • Things wrap up happily for him though! He and Padmé have five children still living with them in the Tiandi Xueyuan, one of whom is adopted: Ahsoka, Luke, Leia, Rey and Jinn.

Other headcanons
  • He's terribly self-conscious of his scars and mostly casts an illusion over himself to hide them.
  • Ahsoka was the only apprentice he had who still likes him. The only reason things didn't go to hell with Ahsoka like it did with all the other apprentices he had was because she was the fastest learner. (He's great at working with gifted kids because they don't require as much patience! Not so much at working with the kids who need help the most.)
  • Basically, Anakin's attitude toward teaching young dragons in one image:

    65b5840c80bbbf7603afe0013c0a53fc.png
  • I haven't obtained the dragons representing his Vader and Sandakin forms yet but Padmé has been intimate with him in all of his forms and whatever form he takes when they procreate is the form that influences his children's colors. Which means, once I get those other two dragons I'm totally going to make Padmé/Vader and Padmé/Sandakin babies with them. >:333333
  • Used to be terribly prejudiced against Beastclans (paralleling canon Anakin's prejudice against the Sand People), but he's better now.
  • He doesn't like sand.
