This trickster fae exists as a fairy-tale in many a clan's oral history, to the extent that draconic historians have recently posed that he did exist in eons past. Of course, their belief only goes so far. It's unlikely that his penchant for trickery and wisecracks caught the eye of the Windsinger, who blessed him with eternal flight and an endless pack of Foos to follow his every footstep. Even more so that these Foo are tasked with devouring enemies to the Wind territories, explaining the region's decades of peace. That can be attributed more to the policies of clan politicians and culture, after all, if you even needed an excuse to refute the existence of the "Skytiger" to begin with. That's what his name translates directly to most clan's languages, in case you were wondering: further proof that perhaps there's some veracity to the figure he must have been based on's existence. Who he was or what he did has since been lost. But the legend of his legion of Foo, which has taken on the name of the "Nightwatch" - in reference to the time that Foo hunt - has persisted.

Hatchlings are most accustomed to the tale of the Skytiger stealing the Windsinger's favorite bow and arrow set, a feat not only complicated by the many guards protecting it but the fact that it was sized for a god, not a meager fae. Early versions of the story say it was in fact a large bottle of aged mead that was stolen away, or perhaps a smoking pipe weighed down by the finest dragonhuff a god could be given - the revision as a bow and arrow appears to be somewhat recent, and the most popular form of the story to date. Regardless of the subject in question, the manner in which the Skytiger obtains it remains unchanged. He does not disable the guards with violence; but rather, by a series of ever-complicating riddles. For every one that a guard completes to the Skytiger's satisfaction, another guard approaches, and must knock his head together with his fellows to answer the next. When all guards have assembled around the Skytiger to answer his final riddle - his hardest yet - none can solve it, and begin bickering among themselves, each thinking they have the correct answer. In the chaos, the Skytiger steals away, tricking the object he wishes to steal into thinking it is much lighter than it actually is and allowing him to carry it away. It has become a popular tradition in many clans for hatchlings to reenact the role of the guards, answering each riddle "correctly" and attempting to solve the final one among themselves.

The Skytiger's canon extends far beyond this one story, and many of them include his namesake in the form of his herd of Foo. Historians and literary interpreters alike have puzzled over why the Skytiger would own a pack of violent Foo when his method of trickery is inherently nonviolent in natures, as shown in his most popular tale. Some speculate that the answer lies within a story in which the Skytiger meets a non-Wind dragon who refuses to abide by the laws of the wind and strikes the Skytiger without attempting to answer his riddle. Enraged, the Skytiger realizes that those who do not abide by the Wind's rules cannot be treated with them, and sics his pack on the violator. This story appears to have a recent creation date in comparison with the other stories, however, and it was likely created to forwards a war-like mindset within the clan from which it originated.

Believe in him or not, it is difficult to find a dragon - wind or not - who was not told of the exploits of the Skytiger's ways.
