______ Riptide is a calm and collected young male skydancer who is agile and smart. He is very attentive and rarely gets angry, although when he does he tends to lash out much too hard. As a young dragonets his parents abandoned him due to a time he was enraged with a perfectly good reason. He was taken in by Icicle’s parents. Riptide is a month older than Icicle, and always guides her as well as other dragons, since he is fairly wise. As a dragonet he was depressed once his parents left, and thought that he would never be loved or accepted by anyone. Now, he realized that he was wrong, and that even if he gets lost in anger he will never let himself lash out as horribly as he did that day.

______ He remembered the day his parents deemed him a monster as clear as day. Riptide and his family were on a walk when a dragon suddenly collapsed. The exhausted dragon fell out of the sky and crashed on the ground in front of them, and Riptide’s brother had let out a squeak of fear. the blue skydancer’s parents however, ignored the fallen dragon. The stuck-up adults took care to walk directly around the hurt dragon, and continued walking without a care in the world. His brother took a nervous glance at the fallen pearlcatcher before he scrambled after their parents. Riptide would not just walk away though. “Mom!” He yelled, his tail lashing and his eyes narrowed. When his parents turned around he growled at them, although he was at least seven times smaller than them. “Why would you leave behind a hurt dragon? Can’t you tell they need help?” He exclaimed, his fury rising. The two frowned at him. “It’s not our problem honey,” his mother began as she crouched down to talk to her son, but Riptide had enough. He was up at his mother in a few seconds , his talons lashing out and ranking down his mother’s blue head, and she recoiled in shock. He barely scratched her, but her gaze turned shadowed in an instant. Riptide had a good reason for his fight, but perhaps not the best choices.
