He was the descendant of two mercurial dragons, who kept their son by their side at all times. Even as a dragonet, Aconite couldn't play with other dragonets. He and his parents would wander through the Labernyth, and occasionally, they'd see dragonets. Behind a wall of greenery, young Aconite could see 5 dragonets, playing. He started running towards them. He just wanted to play, to be a dragonet. But then, something began tugging on him. He didn't care, he just wanted to play. He kept running against the thing that kept him back. But suddenly, he was pulled back abruptly. He noticed that the thing that kept him back was actually a vine. It just kept growing, and growing, and growing, until it became something that could never be cut. He tried to go back, but plants started growing all around Aconite instead. He felt a cold glare from his parents. His mother, having the harness around her wrist, glared coldly at the dragonets. "How dare you run away from us!" Aconite's wings drooped. "But... I don't want to just sit in the woods and hide! I want to PLAY!" His mother sighed. "No. You can't play. Because you keep running away from us, you're just gonna have to get used to this harness. I know you hate it, but it's so that you don't get eaten alive." Ever since that incident, he had been cursed. It was a blasted harness, meant to drag him around. More than once, he tried to cut the harness, while his parents were asleep. Every time he was caught doing this, he was punished harshly. But suddenly, he was pulled back. ________________________________________ |

He just wanted to hang with other dragons again. Yet he couldn't, because of his curse to only be able to be freed of being a statue on nights of the blood moon. Hundreds of years would pass by. So one night he'd see a flourishing clan, the next the city he saw was in ruins. Yet this one time, Sheeta blew into his misrable cave. She's a Guardian. Perhaps... I'm her charge? But if he was her charge... then maybe she could reverse his curse. Or... Wait a minute... that earring! The earring pulsed and glimmered with an unknown magic. It wasn't elemental magic, that was for sure. And yet, she had been blown by the wind straight into his desolate cave. Red tinged moonlight shone on her face, illuminating it somewhat. It illuminated several assorted scales, giving them a silvery shine, albeit reddish. Just as he was making this observation, she woke up abruptly. He noticed the Guardian had large, Arcane eyes, and that he could see almost every corner of the skies in her eyes, including the blood-red moon. She then spoke. "Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to intrude on your home! Please don't chase me away. Have you ever known me or my parents?" Aconite stared out into the darkness. "No, I don't know your parents. Nor do I know where they are. And besides, what's your name? Mine is Aconite." Sheeta eyed a chunk of ruby from Aconite when he broke free from his ruby prison earlier. "Sheeta. Also, can I have this ruby?" ________________________________________ |
