Blood of Ignis, Blood of Glitch. Those two defining traits of Lorna have followed her throughout life, trailing from her like smoke from a fire. Her father, Pariah, cherished her immensely. Her mother, Iluna, spoiled her rotten. As a hatchling, she was content. All she knew was the warmth of her nest and the love of her family. And at that time, that was all she had to know in life. Things changed as she began to age, however. Her scales began to shift from warm orange to ice blue and she lost resemblance to her parents and siblings. Among her sisters and brother, she was the only one to take after her father, despite presenting as a Bogsneak originally. And then they went their separate ways. Lorna is never very open about her past, and no dragon is aware of how exactly she travelled to and established her small library in Sanctuary, except the Council, perhaps. Regardless of this, she is happy to assist any dragon that strides through the dark oak doors, whether it be finding a book of a specific genre, or if they want to learn about the history of their small village in the Tangled Wood. The History and General Information of Sanctuary •Sanctuary acquired its name over time, originally it was referred to as a safe haven until several of the original dragons in the clan began to call it their Sanctuary. The name stuck. •Other clans within this region are as follows: Clan Silune (Allied Clan), Clan Bramble (Allied Clan), Clan Keloran (Allied Clan), Clan Arcadia (Neutral Clan), Clan Geoderoot (Allied Clan), •Clans or Dragons that Sanctuary has interacted with in the past include Siafulkina Dwyllain, Andromedai of Clan SilverSong, •Sanctuary's main form of income comes from providing guard-for-hire services as well as exporting rare minerals excavated from the nearby cavern system. Travellers passing through the village may also purchase items from various vendors and small businesses, which also helps sustain the clan economy. •Sanctuary imports goods that are not readily available to the dragons that reside within the clan walls. Dragons may ask Nadia if they have any specific item requests, however, the most common imports for the clan are the following: Sea Salt, various birds that may be classified as being poultry, hefty amounts of seafood for the Coatl Coliseum fighters Bride and Eirlys, and ingredients for herbal salves as well as organic toxins used for weapon production. •Clan Sanctuary is independent and is not ruled by another governing body. There are two primary leaders, brother and sister, Nadim and Nadia. These great-grandchildren of Thorn are the founders of Sanctuary and continue to provide a safe haven for those who need it. The Council is considered to be the secondary force of power in the clan. Its members are Bastet, Eirlys, Bride, Athena, Thistle, and Arrhythmia. These dragons are usually the ones to deal with minor or major incidents that happen within the clan boundaries. •Clan Sanctuary has no set religion or basis of worship, but some dragons choose to worship the Shadowbinder or their own deities from other clans, and the Trickmurk Circus is especially celebrated whenever the time comes. •In the weeks approaching the seventh annual Thundercrack Carnivale, a faction of Sanctuary dragons lead by Bastet departed for Dragonhome. Their mission is unclear, though rumours have spread that they are harvesting rare and valuable gems from the intricately networked cavern systems. However, during their time apart from the Tangled Wood, Sanctuary was hit by a devastating storm that resulted in the nesting grounds being destroyed. As a result, the new hatchery is in the faction's outpost within the Greatwyrm's Breach. This is leaving the couples of Sanctuary with no choice but to travel into the arid mountain range to rear their young while the nesting grounds are rebuilt. DRAGON RELATIONS AND STRUCTURAL SYSTEM OF SANCTUARY •The Sentry is the primary defensive force of Sanctuary. Patrolling the world outside the heavy pine walls is no easy task which is why it is critical that only the best are sent outward into the unknown, driving away harm and bringing spoils of their journeys back to the gates. MEMBERS OF THE SENTRY ARE AS FOLLOWS: Eirlys (Captain), Eros (Second In Command), Bride, Athena, Nadia, Sinister, Zoroaster, Abstract, Athena, Carraig, Twelve, Aurelius, Doom, Nida, . •The Council is the secondary force of power within the clan, beneath the sibling leaders Nadim and Nadia. They are usually the ones to deal with minor or major incidents that happen within the clan boundaries, each council member represents one of the groups that make up Sanctuary. MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL ARE AS FOLLOWS: Bastet (Current Leader, Earthen Envoy), Eirlys (Sentry), Avaritia (Apothecary), Naviya (Tangled Wood - Clan Sanctuary), Thistle (The Desert Roses), Eros (The Infernal House), Deucalion (The Marble Caverns). •The Earthen Expedition is comprised of the select few that currently reside in the mountains of Dragonhome, deep within the caverns. Bastet is among them, but continues her council work remotely at this time. MEMBERS OF THE EXPEDITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Bastet, Alistair, Kara, Cett, Eryle, Vasilisa, Heretic, Tetyana, Respite, Button, Cocoa. •The Apothecary is a subsection of Sanctuary dedicated to those who excel in the Alchemical Arts, Dark Arts, Conjuring, and more. They may or may not be holders of the Queen's glitched blood. There are 5 heads of the apothecary, known as hexes, and the novices are known as jinxes. MEMBERS OF THE APOTHECARY ARE AS FOLLOWS: Avaritia, Arrhythmia, Tarot, Malady, Athame, Hallow, Cvijeta, Jerrett, Astra, Gylfie. •The Marble Caverns is another subsection of Sanctuary, and is the home of those descended from those of regal standing. This extravagantly carved section of marble deep below the surface of the Tangled Wood is led by Nantais, Marquis of the Forlorn, and his sister Ulraunt, Marchioness of the Tainted. They do not interfere with matters outside of their den as often as they can help it. MEMBERS OF THE MARBLE CAVERNS ARE AS FOLLOWS: Ouriel, Nantais, Ulraunt, Torres, Deucalion, Slushie. •The Infernal House is house of Imperials that can trace their lineage back to both Naomi and Ignis. A son of Cassandra, a son of Dismas, a daughter of Jinx, and a daughter of Narcissa are the figureheads of this circle. They can be found throughout the forests of the Tangled Wood or the expanse of Dragonhome. MEMBERS OF THE INFERNAL HOUSE ARE AS FOLLOWS: Lysander, Eros, Calamity, Hel, Harvest, Tamarind, Aten, Noel, Navarah, Sulien, Erie, Lia, Rinu. •The Desert Roses are a band of travellers that occupy the plains of Dragonhome. Jericho and Thistle are the leaders of this group, which is an extension of Sanctuary's Earthen Envoy. This group spends their days traversing the desert, looking for potential mine sites, and being sure to avoid the bones of former settlements- who knows what may be lurking in the sand-laden wreckage. MEMBERS OF THE DESERT ROSES ARE AS FOLLOWS: Jericho, Josephine, Thistle, Blair, Hephaestus, Alethkar, Ravager, Hellebore, Sunshine, Briar. |
