Breeze could tell her mother was stressed out. She spent a lot less time smithing than usual, and bristled whenever Nakai tried to calm her down. She seemed about ready to lead one of the search parties herself!

She almost bumped into Aibi on her way.
“Oh, sorry about that, Uncle.”
“Where are you off to in such a rush?”
“My laboratory,” Breeze replied cheerfully.

“Oh, Breeze! What can I do for you?”
The Ridgeback took a deep breath. “I’d like to change my name. Is that possible?”
Nakai hesitated, tilting her head. “Uh, well, I... suppose you can... with consent from your parents. Why, are you not happy with the one you have?”
“No, no, I just... it’s complicated. Could I explain later?”
“Uh. Yes, alright,” Nakai said, nodding slowly.
“Cool. Bye!” Breeze [jumped up to fly to her den]

Breeze- now Albahthean- took a deep breath.
Someday, I will find my sister and bring back home, where she belongs.
She’ll be safe with us, and I’ll never let anyone take her away like that again.
We will celebrate and there’ll be friends and family and hugs and kisses and food and music and so much more.
But… until that day, I shall remain as Albahthean.
