Among the younger professors on Home's faculty board, Eden is a talented diviner. Although from Earth, he was born with cross-Flight Water magic. Like many other Water magicians with innate talent, he is not supremely gifted in Water elemental magic but is instead gifted in divination. He is one of the rare few dragons able to accurately say of themselves that they possess the Sight; this means that he is able to interpret his dreams and the dreams of others, waking visions, and other omens with a reasonable degree of accuracy. Eden is the only dragon on the faculty board who teaches divination classes, and he opens his classes both to Water magicians (who are the most likely ones to be able to interpret their own dreams and visions) as well as magicians from other Flights (who would likely not be able to accomplish dream or vision divination but might be able to parse omens). Eden considers divination to be an art of the highest order, and although there is little doubt that he truly does possess some sort of skill (although some would argue it to be no more than an unusually good sense of intuition), he tends to butt heads with other professors who consider divination to be little more than nonsense.

Eccentric and theatrical, Eden enjoys teaching his subject but tends to have little patience with uninterested students. He knows very well that many dragons look at divination as wishy-washy baloney, and he much prefers to teach students who are already interested than try to convince those who are not. Skilled in both divination and interpretation, Eden stresses to his students that divination is a highly interpretive art, and if a student does not naturally possess the Sight, there will be little he can do for them. He frequently annoys more scholarly students when he informs them that textbooks and lectures can only take them so far in his classes. He has, however, added a numerology course (which deals with divination through assigning numerical value to letters and words) for students who simply don't have the mind for divination. The nature of his class can often lead him to clash with students in his beginner's courses, although those students who continue to pursue divination to an advanced level find him a very effective teacher. Once he feels comfortable with someone, he is known for having a rather dry and sarcastic sense of humour and for giving rather excellent advise. Although he frequently butts heads with the other professors, he is known for a level-headed decision-making process that makes him invaluable at faculty meetings. They may not agree on many things, but the other dragons on Home's faculty board are proud to consider him a friend. Reliable and consistent, Eden can be counted on to do his job and do it well. He tends to downplay his nature as a Seer, knowing that other dragons may find it odd or even untrustworthy, but by now the other dragons at Home know to trust him when he tells them to avoid going into town on a certain day or be careful when carrying something.
