- Biography
He is not terribly friendly.
He is not terribly sentimental.
But he is a matchmaker. Trained in the magical art of scrying from a young age to determine the best match for one anywhere on Sornieth... cross-referenced by age, bloodline, and likelihood you could actually meet them.
He never really had a choice in the matter. He was apparently gifted, and so he was pigeonholed into the role without any regard taken to his actual desires.
He's great at it! He hates it.
He'll scry for you if you pay him, but expect to be scowled at the entire time.
He always has business for some reason.
- More Info
Though it cannot be shown onsite, Fen has astigmatism and is extremely nearsighted, thus needing glasses to manage.

Excerpt 1:
“Okay, okay, fine, fine. Fine. Do you want a seat? You should have a seat.”
“Is there anything I should be do-”
“Shh.
…Average height, intelligence, crafting… weapons… fletcher? You’re a fletcher?”
“Yes! I’m wor-”
“Just gonna cross these ones out then. And these. And these… she’s a pacifist… no…
A noble… no…”
“Why not a noble? My family is - “
“No you aren’t.”
“My grandfather - “
“Lied.”
“No - no! I-”
“There’s a seamstress in the Millmeadows who you’ll get along with like a house on fire. Have your crisis and then go meet her.”
“But I - “
“Have it anywhere but my godsdamn house.”
Excerpt 2:
The Matchmaker frowned, pushing his glasses further up the bridge of his nose before resting his chin in his hands. He studied every feature, every subtle movement and politely nervous breath from the one sitting just across from him.
They were normal. Almost - almost - refreshingly so, at first. He’d looked forward to what seemed like a simple task that would allow him to take his lunch on time.
A quiet job and life, a perfectly average upbringing without excessive joys or misfortune, not a saint but certainly no villain either. A simple, decent person.
So why was their fate so intertwined with such… abnormal futures? Why, for all the possible paths they could take in life, was there such a vast swathe of darkness? Why was there a single golden thread that would be as borderline impossible to follow as to tiptoe on a spider’s web? A king’s throne. The throat of war. The upset of an empire. Loss beyond calculation, and so much simply through love.
What was it that made them so notable? Such a catalyst?
The perfectly average person in front of him looked away, now studying his office in some effort to hide their discomfort. For a moment he forgot himself, and took it as a sign he was missing something that they knew.
But then he took into account the fact that he must have been staring, in silence, for several minutes now.
He cleared his throat, and - uncharacteristically for himself - apologized.
“I don’t…” The Matchmaker began hesitantly. “I… have you considered remaining single?”
