Mika

Mika is clan Guardian Draco's Alchemist- she enjoys the science of it and strives to one day out do Baldwin. its best to come to her before anyone decides to throw something they shouldn't have in the brew.

May, her Autumn Dryad familiar, isn't the biggest fan of alchemy, and is honestly confused as to why the tundra just hasn't brewed herself a new familiar. As to be expected from Mika, she hasn't done this because May is her friend and she enjoys spending time with her. They make an interesting pair.

"Oh no, I agree May, this is very dangerous. Thats why i'm trusting you to help me!"

"Note the science"
Ever since she was a hatchling raised by Elavan, Mika had enjoyed science, alchemy, chemistry, and the like. She took notes because that was important to science- and science was important. She made notes and pages, and books on what made what in Baldwin's brew (which inspired her one sided rivalry with the alchemist) and soon Guardian Draco had their own personal catalog of alchemical experiments, laws, and studies. Her familiar May humored the young tundra for a long time, but when she started to ramble away to the Autumn Dryad about unnatural science and experiments the familiar wasn't so amused anymore.
"I always thought you wrote things down so you could remember them." she said. "Tundras are known to have terrible memory, but you're such an outlier its a little concerning." Mika proceeded to take notes and data on the subject and to her surprise- yes, Tundras have very poor memory. It was then she realized she had inadvertently started an experiment: could a tundra remember better if they wrote everything down? of course THAT started it's own series of notes and books and scrolls. May was still supportive, especially when all the note taking turned into May being shown various bobs and nick-nacks. She collected things and was happy she could share the hobby with the dragon. It still worried her when ever Mika brought her something forged though alchemy.
Things came to a head with the first experiment into chemicals. She had created glowing crystals and it concerned the dryad. Mika was also concerned, but instead of stopping and cleaning up she took out a pen and a pad of paper. a few days later she recreated the experiment using ooze and goo. May knew that look in the shadow dragon's eye- it was the look of a curious hatchling wanting to learn and know. may became her reluctant assistant only because she refused to let anyone help the tundra-"I know you don't like this." Mika had said. "I appreciate you being here! but if you are ever uncomfortable I am sure i can find someone else!" and as much as May would prefer that, May also knew she couldn't trust anyone with Mika.- so she held the bottles, she stood back and readied herself to run, she handed Mika paper and honey (because if this dragon was anything it was single minded and focused), and she stood by her side and watched as the library grew and grew with more and more chemical studies and science.
And then the accident happened. Mika was handling crates of materials she needed to either organize or dispose of properly- "If i do it wrong it will damage the environment! the data is consistent in this and i do not want to harm the everbloom gardens." She had loaded a cart her new apprentice had gotten her. May insisted on going to make sure nothing went wrong, but what happened wasn't really in anyone's control. the trip to Baldwin ended when the cart hit a bump- thats all it was. a large rock neither noticed in the road. But it was enough to jostle the irradiated crystals, ooze, slime, muck and serthis poison. the mixture created a large cloud of fumes that Mika immediately recognized as dangerous. May didn't realize how close she was to it until the dryad was yanked away from the plume and held against Mika's chest, her body shielding them from a combustion that knocked the tundra down and decimated the cart. On the one hand the chemicals were dispose of in a surprisingly environmentally friendly manor -the fumes dispersed and May would later confirm the trees in the area were detoxing the air, the materials being made of biodegradable... things...- on the other, Mika was sporting various blue and orange splotches in her fur. It wouldn't wash out and grew back during her shed. Of course this all went into a whole tome on it's own, but to many of the clan's surprise (not much May's) the tundra was more worried about May's leaves having splashes of purple that only she noticed. The familiar sighed- Mika is so caught up in her notes about the world and people around her she doesn't take the time to study up on herself.
