Citronella

BASIC DESCRIPTION


What led to Pearl laying a clutch of fire eggs was a bit of a mystery. Some put it down to her extended trip to the Sunlet Isles during the height of summer, some triumphantly declared that their warnings about the sheer amount of sunbeam figs she consumed shortly after had turned out to be correct. Either way, Citronella was born with fiery eyes and a skin constantly warm to the touch.

Citronella, hot tempered to the point of cliché, was not to be deterred from her chosen career. Watching her fly higher and higher until she could no longer stand the frigid air is a nerve wracking experience as one wonders when she will faint from oxygen deprivation in the thin air. The following stomach churning drop to a lower, warmer altitude, wings tucked tight against her body as she streaks downwards like an arrow, pulling up only at the very last minute before she turns into a wet smear on the ground, is not much better. She should stop, she knows, but the sight of the sun stretching down its warm fingers to her is too tempting and she can't resist trying to reach back.
