  A B O U T
Ula is Captain Saff’s protégé, the dragon that may one day follow in his footsteps as captain. She’s a remarkable merchant who could charm any dragon with her kind smile and soft voice. It probably helps that she unintentionally scries a dragon’s deepest desires, even if she often wishes she couldn’t.

She tries to ignore the more sensitive information that her ability reveals to her, though this isn’t always possible. Ula feels a lot of remorse about the invasions of privacy, being honest about it with her closest friends and attempting to compensate by being overly open to them. Around strangers, she swallows the guilt, feeling it is better than exposing herself to potential exploitation.

While she is able to hide the talent from most dragons, she suspects that Sweetbriar, one of Saff’s friends in the clan and the only dragon that seems to be immune to her gift, knows her secret. Whenever she is around the dragon, she can feel her scales prickling as if she is being watched.

  H I S T O R Y
Ula grew up immersed in the wonders of Tidelord’s Sea, the daughter of a net weaver and a dock worker in a remote, coastal village. She spent much of her childhood swimming in the shallows, surrounded by coral colonies and darting tropical fish. Unfortunately, when her secret eventually came to light, there was nowhere to hide from the distrustful eyes.

She ventured north, settling briefly in a clan that lived along the rocky eastern coasts of the Dragonhome. It was nothing like the warm bays she had grown up beside, but she could still take long walks along the beach and breathe in the cool salt air. Shortly after the Tidelord’s disappearance, her ability disappeared as well, giving her hope she would live a more normal life.

When the SMS Endeavor docked at their port and she heard they were bound for warmer waters, she eagerly signed onto their crew. Perhaps she would even be able to return home. However, a few months at sea saw her talent manifest stronger than ever, granting her intense visions and nightmares about what lies in the deep. She dreads what it might mean.
